  • The ASBMT Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an individual who has made continuing contributions to the field of blood and marrow transplantation, either in basic biology or clinical application.

CIBMTR Awards
  • CIBMTR Distinguished Service Award
  • The CIBMTR collaborates with the global scientific community to advance HCT and cellular therapy research worldwide. The purpose of the Distinguished Service Award is to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the CIBMTR's research mission in one or more of the following areas: promoting HCT research and clinical care in developing countries; advancing the field despite unique challenges; expanding the availability of transplantation; disseminating research results to clinicians and patients to improve outcomes and quality of life; and collaboration with organizations to increase data exchange and research collaboration worldwide.

The WBMT is the recipient of the CIBMTR Distinguished Service Award.

The WBMT is a nonprofit scientific Federation with membership including more than 20 major Societies leading the field of hematopoietic cell transplantation. The WBMT’s mission is to promote excellence and advancements in stem cell transplantation, stem cell donation and cellular therapy. The purpose of this cooperative Society is to engage in scientific and educational activities advancing both understanding and access to transplantation throughout the world. The annual global survey of transplant activity along with our worldwide educational meetings are major activities of the WBMT.

The WBMT engages in a variety of activities to further its mission, including:
      • An annual global survey of hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) activity
      • Scientific and educational conferences
      • Development of consensus guidelines for optimum delivery of HCT services and accreditation of HCT facilities
      • Advocacy for safe delivery of care for recipients and donors of HCT
      • Encouragement of protection of patients from unethical promotion of unproven stem cell therapies.
