Imad Maalouf BScN , MPH, MEd
Clinical Lecturer

Imad is holding a BS degree in Nursing from the American University of Beirut. Also he obtained a Master’s degree in Education from Southern University of Queensland – Australia and another Master’s degree in Public Health from UAE University. His clinical nursing background started in American University of Beirut- Medical center, in Lebanon where Imad worked as a Registered Nurse/Charge Nurse in medical and surgical units and ICU for around 5 years. Then Imad joined Saudi Aramco Medical Center in KSA where he worked as an Emergency Room Nurse for 3 years.

In 2000, his passion about teaching led him to move forward and shift his career from nursing to teaching. He was recruited in the Institute of Nursing and worked as a Nursing instructor until 2007. Later, Imad joined FCHS where he was offered a lecturer position in the Nursing department and he is still currently in this position. His teaching experience in the nursing programs extends for around 17 years. His philosophy of teaching has its foundation on the value of encouraging students to take a deep and active approach to learning. As a nursing educator, he emphasizes on the acquisition of critical thinking, clinical reasoning, problem- solving, and decision- making skills through the application of concepts and development of arguments and ideas. As for his personal passions, it’s mainly about critical care, public health and pathophysiology.

 
Dr. Reetha Ismail
Professor & Program Director of College of Health Sciences
Gulf Medical University, Ajman

Dr. Reetha Ismail has more than 38 years teaching experience in India and abroad in various cadre, teaching Nursing programs at various levels including 8 years as Principal of Nursing Colleges and held various academic positions in Universities, Affiliation bodies and Professional organizations. She guided more than 55 thesis works of M.Sc. Nursing students and more than 100 project works of B.Sc. Nursing students. At present, she is Research guide for 5 Ph.D. scholars and Member of Editorial board of few Professional Nursing Journals. Dr. Reetha attended many short-term courses, workshops and conferences at Local, National and International levels as resource person, delegate and also presented papers.

 
Mervat Mansour
Director of Quality and Patient Safety
Al Zahra Hospital, Dubai

Mervat is a highly qualified, skilled, innovative and result-oriented professional with more than 15 years of healthcare experience including 8 years at a leadership position overviewing quality and patient safety programs and leading improvement projects. In addition to extended experience at national and international levels in assessing organizational performance, she is expert in quality improvement, risk management, JCIA accreditation, strategic planning, and customer satisfaction at measurement, development and delivery levels.

She finished her Bachelor of Health Sciences degree from the American University of Beirut and completed her Master’s Degree in Quality Management (with Distinction) from Wollongong University. She is expected to finish her Doctorate of Business Administration degree from Swiss Business School in 2018. Currently, she is working as the Director of Quality & Patient Safety at Al Zahra Hospital, Dubai.

 
Talar Jean Aynedjian
Nurse Manager, Neurology & Pain Clinics

Talar has received her BSN from St. Joseph University in Beirut and worked in AUBMC for 10 years as senior staff and care coordinator in medical subspecialty, surgical and infectious diseases unit. She has received her Master’s degree in Nursing Administration in 2014 from American University of Beirut. Her graduate project was focused on creating Optimal Healing Environment (OHE) in hospitals.

She has joined CCAD in 2015 as Assistant Nurse Manager for Medical and surgical Inpatient units and moved into the outpatient clinics in 2017 as NM for Neurology and Pain Clinics. She has been with CCAD during the pre-operational phase, helped developed nurses and supported MDT teams in opening new units, getting JCI accreditation and continues to provide CCAD patients world class care while focusing on quality improvement strategies and staff satisfaction. Her leadership style is transformational as she believes in empowering nurses to improve, influence and positively impact on patient experience and staff satisfaction.

 
Monica Jacobs

She is committed to quality, experienced in risk / hazard techniques and implementation of Environment, Health & Safety management systems, while demonstrating exceptional strategy and planning capabilities. Responsible for establishing a corporate quality improvement system and team that promotes customer satisfaction. A champion of continuous improvement and currently working as Director of Quality, Safety and Performance Improvement for Capital Health, Abu Dhabi.

 
Angelita Cortel-Braceros MSN, R.N.
Patient Safety Nurse

Angie Cortel-Braceros is a Licensed Professional Nurse with 27 years in hospital industry. She has a various exposure in different arenas in the field of nursing and wide-spread expertise in critical care. She is also a staff and patient safety specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the healthcare domain.

In addition to her extensive clinical experience, she has an outstanding academic background that includes Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Philippines and a Master of Science in Nursing major in Leadership and Management from Walden University, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. She has worked in Greater Manchester NHS Trust Hospital in Manchester, England where she has participated in various research projects while maintaining her four professional licenses (HAAD, MOH, NMC-UK, Phil) till date.

For over 10 years, she has been working in SEHA and currently, holds a position as a Patient Safety Nurse in Corniche Hospital for the last 3 years where she has demonstrated analytical skills evident in reviewing and identifying trends from incident reports and assists in the spread of “lessons learned” from adverse events. She possesses expertise in enhancing Culture of Safety, Infection Control, Case Reviews and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). She works in collaboration with the Risk Management Team and Quality Department.

Before joining Corniche Hospital, she served as Nurse Champion of Tawam Hospital NICU- Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program (CUSP) and Safety Event Analysis Team for 8 years; where she implemented a department-wide strategic plans that improved the quality of care while simultaneously reducing medication and patient identification errors. She has a proven track record of quality improvement projects using PDCA and RADAR methodologies both in Tawam Hospital and Corniche Hospital. While in Tawam Hospital, she was an active member of the Nursing Research Committee (NRC) and a NRP Instructor.

Presently, she is a member of American Society of Professionals in Patient Safety (APPS), in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, and the Academy of Neonatal Nursing in California, USA.

 
Roobasoundhrie “Diane” Chetty
Acting Assistant Director of Nursing
Tawam Hospital, Al Ain

Ms. Diane Chetty is the Acting Assistant Director of Nursing at Tawam Hospital covering Women and Children, Polyclinic and VIP/Royal Services. She is a professional nurse with 20 years of experience in the dynamic field of nursing, occupying various progressive clinical and leadership positions in the Emergency Department, Education and Training Department, Pediatric Services and Nursing Administration.

She is a graduate of the University of South Africa majoring in Nursing Education and Nursing Administration and holds a Master’s degree in Health Care Administration and Quality Management. She also obtained her Doctoral Degree in Business Administration in Health Care.

As a firm believer of life-long learning, she has contributed, developed and implemented many new education and training initiatives to enhance the personal and professional development nursing staff. Ms. Chetty continues to maintain her teaching interest as a faculty in the Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) course. She is the UAE’s National Coordinator for the Advanced Trauma Life Support Program and is a member of the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN).

In her current role, Ms. Chetty facilitates multidisciplinary collaboration and teamwork to ensure a patient and family- centered environment that endeavors to promote high quality patient care. She has a keen interest in Shared Governance and Quality improvement and has obtained her Certification in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ). She is a member of American Organization of Nursing Executives.
