IPWEA (NSW) Professional Development Workshop: Manage A Local Government Project: New Dates 4 & 5 March


IPWEA NSW needs your USI

This two day course is designed to introduce fundamental project management principles and techniques for specific applications to local government related work.  The course is appropriate for all local government staff (works officers included) who are interested in the successful planning, implementation and evaluation of project work.

Participants are encouraged to bring along their own laptop or tablet to enhance their learning experience.

Upon completion of this course it is expected that participants should be able to:
• Understand and implement the principles of project management
• Define what a project is with a focus on the local government context
• Develop a comprehensive project plan
• Determine resource requirements including cost management
• Determine and manage risk
• Consult and communicate with project stakeholders
• Plan, implement and evaluate projects in accordance with organisational policies and relevant legislations
• Manage implementation including comprehensive recording and reporting mechanisms
• Evaluate the project
  

Presenter Details - Ann Morris

Ann holds a Master of Education and Diploma of Project Management and has over thirty years’ experience in delivering training to government and corporate organisations. She specialises in leadership, change and project management and has also delivered programs in policy and procedure writing, tender writing and change management to local government across NSW. Ann has managed projects in events, community economic development, asset management and environmental sustainability.

STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT

Participants who successfully undertake assessment associated with this course will receive a statement of attainment for the following unit of competency from the Local Government Training Package: LGACOMP025 Manage a Local Government Project.

This unit of competency can be used as a building block towards Certificate IV and Diploma level Local Government qualifications.
