The Adolescent and Young Adult Global Accord
is delighted to invite you to submit an abstract for the
3rd Global AYA Cancer Congress

We invite you to submit an abstract and take part in the 3rd Global AYA Cancer Congress. There will be opportunities for abstracts to be presented across all disciplines and we welcome and encourage abstracts from all research, healthcare, policy and advocacy backgrounds.

The 2018 congress will cover each step along the adolescent and young adult cancer pathway, from prevention, managing risk factors and diagnosis, through advances in treatment to survivorship, rehabilitation and long-term outcomes.

There are 2 ways for delegates to contribute:

  • Oral, Rapid Fire and Poster Abstracts – these submissions will be peer reviewed by the Scientific Committee and selected based on their relevance to the congress theme, innovation and excellence.

  • Global Exchange Abstracts – these submissions will NOT be peer reviewed but will be selected based on their relevance to the congress theme, innovation and excellence.

Information for successful submitters

  • Congress abstracts will be published in the Congress program book
  • Oral presentations will be 15 – 20 minutes
  • Posters will measure no more than 120cm high x 85cm wide (AO size)
  • All presenters must register for a minimum of one day of the Congress by the Early Bird Deadline for registration (30 September 2018) or the presentation will be withdrawn from the program. There is no funding or discounted registrations available for submitted abstracts. Presenters selected for oral and poster presentations are expected to attend the 2018 congress and cover their own costs of attendance.
  • Submitting author must be the person who will be presenting the paper at the conference

Submitter Guidelines

  • Your abstract itself must not exceed 300 words (excluding abstract title, authors and affiliations). Abbreviations may be used only if defined in the abstract. Abstracts over the word limit will not be accepted by the online submission system. All abstracts must be thoroughly checked for spelling and grammar before submission.

  • Abstracts (other than Case Studies) must use the following structure:

-       Introduction and Aims

-       Methods

-       Results

-       Discussion and Conclusions

  • Case Study abstracts ONLY must use the following structure:

-       Case Description

-       Discussion

-       Key learnings

  • Please note that for peer reviewed abstracts, selecting your presentation type is a preference only. Global Exchange abstracts will only be considered for this category.

  • The decision of acceptance of abstracts and allocation of presentation type is at the discretion of the Scientific Committee.

  • In case of more than one author please underline the name of the presenting author

  • Research shouldn’t already be published or have been presented at another conference

  • Abstracts should be written in English and should be carefully proof read. The Abstract Review Committee reserves the right to correct abstracts for obvious spelling or grammatical errors without notice.

Notification of acceptance

Authors will be notified of initial abstract acceptance or otherwise within 6 weeks of the closing date.

Please note: the Scientific Program Committee cannot guarantee that the presentation type of choice will be granted to authors. The decision of the Scientific Program Committee is final and no correspondence will be entered into.


Submission Confirmation

Once you have submitted your abstract, you will receive an automated email confirmation. You will be able to edit/modify your submission and author details up until the closing deadline of 22 July 2018.
