Dr. Abdulla Saeed Esmaeel S. J. AAl Ali

Dr. Abdulla is a UAE national who works as a Consultant Geriatrician in Zayed Military Hospital. He is also the Co-Director of the Arab Board Internal Medicine Residency Program of the facility. His goal is to introduce the correct concept of Geriatric Medicine specialty to the different health care workers and stakeholders. He wants to improve the care of elderly population in UAE in order to keep them functioning in their community. He is also aiming to establish different services in the hospitals and community aiming to provide comprehensive care for UAE elderly.  He was member in the committee responsible for putting national guidelines for the home care in July 2014.

Mariam Hasan
Founding Director

Ms. Hasan is the founding Director for Enayati. Prior to Enayati she was the Regional Manager for InterHealth Canada, having established a full-time office in Riyadh in 2012. She relocated to Saudi Arabia to support the growth strategy in the Middle East Region after serving as Director of Planning for more than 5 years. She has served as Finance Director, Canadian Business Council in Dubai, for a three year term and has initiated and delivered fiscal strategy to secure long term commitment. Ms. Hasan completed her MBA from McMaster University Health Services Management with a previous 10-year nursing history in Burns/Trauma, Critical Care, and Long Term Care.

Dr. Salwa Abdulla Alsuwaidi

Dr. Salwa Alsuwaidi, a graduate of UAEUniversity in 1997. Started her career in Dubai Health Authority (DHA) since 1999 to specialize in Internal Medicine. Currently holds MRCP (UK) and PhD Arab Board of Internal Medicine as well as a Post Graduate Diploma of Gerontology & Geriatrics from the University of Malta. She was the first Emirati Geriatrician in DHA and had a great role in establishing the first geriatric unit in Rashid Hospital in Dubai in 2007. In addition, she was a pioneer in establishing the firstDubairehabilitation centre for the elderly, taking care of all the responsibilities related to it as a Project Manager. Currently she is the Director of the Family Gathering center; that is a nursing home for the inpatients, and a day care centre for the out patients. Dr. Salwa was a member of many committees at DHA and had chaired some of them. Has excellent experience caring for elderly both at the acute hospital settings as well as at long stay facilities. An active member; attended many courses and conferences, and was a speaker in many of them, and represented DHA in many international conferences. 

She had joined the Middle East Academy for the Medicine of Ageing (MEAMA) as a board member after completing 4 sessions in 2012. Dr. Salwa was a winner of the Emirates Women Award in 2012 for the category of Financial & Strategic Planning. She was a winner of Shamsa Bint Suhail Award for creative women in 2013. She was shortlisted for the final stage of Dubai Government Excellency Program in 2014 for the category of Distinguished Female Employee. Moreover, she received Medal Pride of UAE in 2014 as part of Mohammed Bin Rashid Award for Excellence in Government Performance.

Dr. Hanan Sheikh Ibrahim

Dr Ibrahim is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine of the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University, Ohio. She is the Academic lead for the Department of Medicine and a Consultant Physician at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Dr. Hanan serves as Quality Officer for the medical Subspecialty institute.Dr. Ibrahim is American Board Certified Geriatrician and Internist; she is also Board Certified Pulmonologist. She was trained at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio in the US under the tutelage of Dr. Robert Palmer, concept originator of the Acute Care of Elderly (ACE) unit, which is now an internationally recognized model of hospital care for geriatric patients. She is a pioneer in the field of geriatric care in the UAE, having implemented the first Mobile Acute Care of Elderly (MACE) program of its kind in the region. 

Dr. Ibrahim completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US. She completed her Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Cleveland Clinic, Ohio She received her MD from Damascus University, Syria

 

Dr. Amir I.A. Ahmed, MD, Ph.D.

Dr. Amir I.A. Ahmed was graduated from the Russian State Medical University in Moscow, Russia in 1997, as well as from Leiden University, the Netherlands in 2004. Following his medical education, he trained in Geriatric Medicine from 2005 to 2010, and in Clinical Pharmacology from 2009 to 2011, both at the Radboud University Medical Center, Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Between 2010 and 2016, Dr. Amir worked as a Consultant Geriatrician / Clinical Chief of the Department of Psychogeriatric Medicine at the Vincent van Gogh Hospital in Venray, the Netherlands. There, he was also the president of the medical staff from 2013 to 2016. In 2011 he started his doctoral research, which has resulted in a PhD thesis entitled: Clinical Pharmacology of Oral Tetrahydrocannabinol in Older People with Dementia. Dr. Amir is connected to the Department of Geriatric Medicine / Alzheimer’s Center and the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology of the Radboud University Medical Center as a researcher and associate professor. He is extensively involved in teaching and research activities. He authored several research papers in international journals including the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, Neurology, and Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics. Moreover, he is a guest speaker at various training centres.

 

Qadriya Abdallah Hassan Al Marzouqi

Qadriya Al Marzouqi is a Registered Nurse with more than 16 years of clinical and managerial experience in the healthcare field. She has joined the Institute of Nursing - Abu Dhabi, UAE in 1998 and earned her Diploma in Nursing Sciences with Distinction in 2001. Qadriya obtained a Dual Bachelor of Nursing Degree from Fatima College of Health and Sciences in Abu Dhabi and Griffith University from Queensland, Australia in 2013. She holds a Master of Business Administration Degree from Swiss Business School (SBS) since 2016. In 2009, Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) Advanced Skills Program Training Center - Abu Dhabi has selected Ms. Al Marzouqi to become a member of the American Heart Association (AHA) Team as Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor. Qadriya is an Associate Member of Emirates Nursing Association (ENA) since 2014.
