The Asian Lawyer
, in association with The American Lawyer, China Law & Practice and Legal Week, is inviting nominations for the 2018 Asia Legal Awards, where the region's top lawyers, law firms, and in-house teams will gather to celebrate their most stellar achievements of the year.

As Asia’s most renowned ceremony for the legal elite, The Asia Legal Awards honor the best work in the region. Across our coverage of practice areas and disciplines we intend to identify the most important transactions and cases with the most complex and outstanding legal work in Asia.

This contest will be open to all firms with offices in Asia. Winners will be revealed at a gala dinner held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the Four Seasons Hotel, Hong Kong.

We’ve expanded the categories to cover practices and industries more comprehensively: we added four more deal categories and included sectors including real estate, shipping and aviation in firm awards.

Most importantly, in addition to our traditional pro bono award, we will also honor two law firm programs in Asia that demonstrate the legal profession’s commitment to diversity and innovation. And we introduce our inaugural award for best new Asian office which aims to celebrate the rising star of the region.

We continue our grand prizes to acknowledge the best law firms and firm leaders in Asia over the past year. Korea’s Bae, Kim & Lee and Davis Polk & Wardwell, respectively were awarded Asian and International Firm of the Year during the 2017 Asia Legal Awards. Hogan Lovells’ outgoing managing partner for Asia and Middle East Patrick Sherrington received International Law Firm Leader of the Year while Chinese firm JunHe’s managing partner Xiao Wei received the same award for Asian firms.

We will honor in-house legal teams active in four different sectors, and continue with the grand prize for Asian In-House Legal Department of the Year. We invite law firms to make submissions based on exceptional work undertaken by general counsel and their teams in Asia.

All decisions will be made by the editorial staff of The Asian Lawyer, The American Lawyer, China Law & Practice and Legal Week. ALM’s award-winning publications have long been known for their journalistic merit and absolute commitment to editorial independence and integrity. These awards will fall squarely in that tradition.
