Cyril Palma
Nurse Educator

Cyril considers himself as a “Nurse Neophyte,” Cyril Palma is just starting his career in Abu Dhabi. With more than 6 years of clinical and managerial experience in the Philippines, he finished his Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree at University of San Agustin- Iloilo City in the year 2009. Employed in an ISO Accredited Hospital in the Philippines, he worked as an Intensive Care Unit Nurse handling Medical, Surgical and Pediatric cases respectively. He also functions as an Infection Control Nurse directly involved in educating, planning and managing infection prevention and control related concerns in their institution. He was also part of the Regional Disease Surveillance Unit in Western Visayas monitoring and responding to epidemiological and outbreak cases. In addition, as an assistant TB-DOTS Nurse, he supervised the aforementioned cases in the neighboring communities. He was active in trainings, advocacies, seminars and conventions in their city and across the Philippines.

Currently, he is an employee of Emirati Canadian Home Health Care Services for more than a year. He handles some of the in-service trainings and seminars of the facility. Aside from being a lecturer of CME-Accredited Seminars handling various topics, he is also one of the “volunteer” reviewers for the Special Philippine Licensure Examination for Nurses which caters to under-board Filipino Nurses working here in UAE.  Last December 2017, he was awarded as “Employee of the Year" for his commitment and contribution of the company’s institutional goals. Cyril believes that we should always strive for excellence. He is ready to embrace the challenges of what this country has to offer.
 
Janette Alano

Janette is a registered nurse with 15+ years of experience and expertise in diverse adult healthcare environment. She received her nursing education at the De La Salle University, Philippines and with active membership to various professional organizations. She is currently molding her Master degree in Healthcare Management and Charge Nurse of Capital Health – Home Healthcare Services.

Her clinical expertise revolves around Oncology Nursing, Medical Nursing, Home Health Services, Healthcare Quality and Leadership, and Management. Her contribution to oncology nursing was recognized when she presented at the Emirates Oncology Conference, Abu Dhabi – with presentation title “The Red Flag! When transfusion is not an option”.  She is a natural born leader and is involved in leadership roles where she leads and manages teams and projects that focuses on patient safety, professional development, commissioning, national and international accreditations, healthcare innovation and healthcare quality. With her unwavering clinical knowledge and skills, she became manager of home healthcare, delivering best practice and restructuring the view in the homecare. Her clinical track record is a reflection of Filipino passion and dedication to improve patient care.

 
Jesse Ian Yulo Andal
Education Link Nurse
Al Rahba Hospital

Jesse is a Staff Nurse of the General Medical Unit of Al Rahba Hospital since December of 2014.  He also functions as Education Link Nurse for Medical Surgical, Team Leader, CUSP Nurse Champion for Medical Surgical, and Manual Handling Instructor.  Currently, he has been seconded to the Quality Department since November 2017 to help in the preparations for the JCI Re-Accreditation of Al Rahba Hospital.

He finished his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City, Philippines as Magna Cum Laude in the year 2008.  He then obtained the degree Master of Arts in Nursing from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila City, Philippines in 2012 garnering a General Weighted Average of 1.045 in Academic Units and authored the thesis entitled, “Profile, Exposure to Healthcare Customer Service Training, and Nurses’ Self-Reported Quality of Service Delivery.”

In the Philippines, he was formerly connected with St. Luke’s Medical Center, a tertiary, JCI-Accredited Academic Medical Institution in Quezon City, Philippines.  He started his employment as a Training Associate of the Human Resource – Training, Development and Education Department from September 2009 to March 2012.  He then became a Staff Nurse of the Digestive and Liver Unit from March 2012 to April 2013.  He started functioning as Charge Nurse in April 2013 until he received official promotion to Assistant Nurse Unit Manager in September 2013.  After 10 months, he was promoted to senior nurse manager and became the Department Manager of the Nursing Resource and Support Services.

Liberty has more than 35 years of clinic experience in different countries including Philippines, Yemen, Bahrain and United Arab Emirates. She obtained her Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Nursing from Philippine Women’s University and received her Hematology Nursing Diploma from American Institute of Healthcare and Management, USA.

She always dreamed to be a Nursing Educator which has been came to reality when she joined Bahrain Defense Force Hospital and eventually transferred Sheikh Khalifa Medical City as Clinical Resource Nurse for 17 years. She is currently working as Clinical Resource Educator under Clinical Operations for Cambridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center.

 
Red Cloud Capuyan
Quality and Education Officer

Red is currently affiliated with Emirati Canadian Home Health Care Services as Quality and Education Officer since 2016. As a Quality Officer, he is responsible for ensuring that clinical processes are conducted in accordance with guidelines and regulations by the Health Authority, develops, performs, manages quality assurance activities and presides over audits. With his commitment to quality, experience and understanding of JCI Survey processes, together with his team achieved also the international accreditation from Accreditation Canada International (ACI) and Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC). He finished his training courses for Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH). As an Education Officer, he is responsible for identifying staff training and development needs, planning, organizing and overseeing appropriate trainings both for clinical and non-clinical staff.

Red finished his bachelor’s degree in one of the prestigious University - Saint Louis University, College of Nursing in Baguio City, Philippines. He also completed 46 Educational Units for his Master in Nursing on the same University.  As a Registered Nurse, he spent most of his clinical years in the NICU and ER before joining the University as a Nurse Educator/Clinical Instructor teaching Fundamentals of Nursing, Communicable Disease Nursing and Medical Surgical Nursing.

Red volunteers as lecturer for under board Filipino nurses who are interested in taking the Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE) conducted yearly in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates by the Professional Regulation Commission.

Ryan Mark Rebeca
Clinical Educator – Training & Development

Ryan is a graduate of Magna Cum Laude in Nursing and has been practicing in various fields of Nursing for more than a decade.  He spent most of his clinical years as a nurse in the ICU and ER while overseeing training and development programs. Also during this time, he has  reached-out to a number of universities in our locality to teach in classrooms and complete their related learning experience hours.  He also took part as a reviewer in a number of centres for nurses and allied health professionals. 

Alongside his duties in the floor, the management entrusted to him several supervisory and training functions such as running IV therapy training and emergency preparedness sessions. He had worked with top endocrinologists and their patients as a diabetes educator and has shared his passion through teaching in schools, communities and varying patient groups.  

As a nurse supervisor, he was entrusted with previous responsibilities such as supervising audits  on  nursing  procedures  and  reporting  findings  to  the  Management  Committee  and concerned  departments  while  being  one  of  the  frontrunners  in  JCI  Accreditation  Survey Process. He developed several programs to identify and nurture potential educators and leaders through preceptorship programs and worked closely with the  Chief Nursing Officer and  nurse  managers  in  the  integration  of  Learning  Management  Systems  to  improve  staff competencies  and  maintain  high  quality  and  morale  among  nurses. 

He is  a  passionate educator  involved  in  on-boarding/competency  training  and  a  seasoned  lecturer  and  CME Accreditation Coordinator (HAAD/DHA).  He is aligned as an American Heart Association Instructor for almost 4 years and involved  in  providing  first  aid  and  advance  life  support  courses  for  both  clinical  and  non- clinical professionals and maintains affiliation with Dubai Corporation For Ambulance Services (DCAS) as a Licensed Instructor.  

 
Yvette Legaspi
Quality Consultant
Abu Dhabi, UAE

Yvette Marris Legaspi is a Registered Nurse and educator. A graduate of Makati Medical Center College. She also obtained her Master of Arts in Nursing – Major in Clinical Supervision at the University of San Carlos in Cebu City, and from Brunel University, United Kingdom. 

A nurse educator since 2008 and a clinical instructor at her alma mater. She handled community health nursing, anatomy and physiology, sciences and other nursing subjects. Community health nursing and occupational health were also two of her expertise. 

At present, she is a quality consultant in Abu Dhabi handling client’s QHSSE needs according to the national and international standards. 

She is also a volunteer at the Filipino Learning Organization, a non-profit organization, teaching Caregiving courses under TESDA accreditation. Aimed to empower and uplift the welfare of OFWs in the UAE through developing and honing their knowledge and skills, which will equip them to be globally competitive and competent.
