Level: Intermediate Description of Workshop Levels
Technique: Knitting

When you look at the beautiful lace that you have knitted, do you think, “What would make this even better is colorwork”? Barbara Benson will teach you how to combine colorwork and lace using the slip-stitch techniques of mosaic colorwork knitting. Mosaic creates patterns by knitting stripes and slipping stitches. There is no carrying yarn across a row, so there are no floats to get in the way of your beautiful lace. This class will cover the techniques you need to confidently cast on for a Mosaic Lace pattern.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Cast-on, knit, purl, simple and complex decrease sts, YO, experience with lace, reading charts, ability to knit stripes while carrying unused yarn up the side.

Materials you are required to bring: Two colors of highly contrasting yarns in Sport or DK weight yarn and needles to knit them at a loose gauge (7 or 8)

Homework: A small amount, casting on a few stitches and knitting a little.
