Educational Objectives

After participating in this course, participants should be able to:
  1. Understand the implications of radiation safety
  2. Describe the clinical consequences of disc pathology, and understand the indications for percutaneous disc decompression and annuloplasty
  3. Recognize cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and sacroiliac pathology
  4. Discuss the indications and selection of epidural steroid techniques
  5. Categorize the uses of sympathetic blocks
  6. Identify causes of orofacial pain
  7. Synthesize the indications for intrathecal pumps and spinal cord stimulators
  8. Compare the indications for fluoroscopy and ultrasound
  9. Prepare for and avoid complications
Participants will also receive hands-on training in the following procedures:
  1. Caudal epidural
  2. Cervical and lumbar DRG
  3. SI joint injections
  4. Cervical and lumbar facets
  5. Adhesiolysis
  6. Discography
  7. Thoracic, splanchnic, superior hypogastric sympathetic injections
  8. Vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty
  9. Intrathecal pumps and spinal cord stimulators
  10. U/S-Guided procedures
