Mush Ali, founder, One Ten Associates
Mush founded One Ten Associates in 2011. Since 2004, Mush has focused on recruiting across the Fund space and has had great success in identifying CFO/COO profilesfor Funds in London, as well as supporting his clients with other non-investment hiring across operations, compliance and sales/marketing/IR. Mush set up One Ten with a vision of creating a specialist brand for the alternative investment space rather than being a financial services generalist like most other players in this industry.





Emma Anderson, CFO, Capital Dynamics
Emma is a Senior Director, Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive Committee at Capital Dynamics. Prior to joining, she worked as an auditor with Bentley Jennison Chartered Accountants and Registered Auditors, before taking up a position as corporate accountant for a large retail organization in the UK. Emma holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Honours) from the University of Portsmouth and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCA) in England and Wales.





Katja Baur, director of finance and operations, Evoco
Katja joined Evoco in 2016. She has ‎11 years of professional experience in the financial services industry, six of which in private equity. Before Evoco, Katja was CFO and member of the executive management of Alpha Associates, an independent private equity, private debt, and infrastructure manager investing globally. In this role, she also acted as CFO of a listed investment company. Prior to that, she gained long-standing experience as auditor with KPMG focusing on the alternative investments sector. Her earlier professional engagements include Credit Suisse and Swissair. Katja holds a MA in Business Administration from the University of Zurich and is a Swiss Certified Accountant (Swiss CPA).



Mike Byrne, chair of Jersey Funds Association & partner, PwC
Mike is a partner and Asset Management leader at PwC in the Channel Islands. He brings together the firm’s offerings for assurance, tax and regulatory solutions to the asset management sector. Mike specialises in private equity, hedge funds, infrastructure and fund of funds. Mike has considerable expertise working in Europe and Asia, leading PwC’s service offering in the alternative fund space and is Chair of the JFA. Mike is PwC’s EMEA PE Leader and a member of PwC Global Alternatives Leadership Team.





David Crosland, Guernsey Investment Fund Association
David is a funds partner in the Corporate and Finance Group at Carey Olsen in Guernsey. He has significant experience in launching alternative investment funds gained from practising at Clifford Chance and ABN AMRO in London, and Carey Olsen in Guernsey. He is regularly instructed by fund managers, UK and international law firms and other financial services firms on the launch, administration, restructuring and listing of both closed and open-ended investment funds. In particular, he acts for a number of Europe's largest private equity and infrastructure fund managers, and is recommended by Legal 500, Chambers, IFLR and the International Who's Who of Private Fund Lawyers 2017. David is a founder member of the BVCA's Channel Islands Working Party.



Steve Darrington, partner & CFO, Phoenix Equity Partners
Steve has been a Partner and CFO of Phoenix Equity Partners since 2001. Before this, he held senior finance positions in the US and UK, including four years as CFO/European Finance Director at Netnumber.com (previously Unifi Communications), and five years as Controller at The Economist. Steve is an FCCA.











Andy Dunkley, group COO, Sun European Partners
Andy joined Sun European Partners in 2016. Andy was CEO of Lee Cooper for 8 years, which included a period of ownership by Sun European until it was successfully sold to a trade buyer in 2013. Prior to that, Andy was the CFO for the European Writing Instrument Division of Newell Brands based in Paris. Andy is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds a BSc in Economics & Politics from the University of Southampton.








Peter Erceg, senior VP | Global Cyber and Technology, Lockton
Peter is recognised as one of the leading Chief Information Security Officers in the world; he sits on customer advisory boards globally and often speaks at events including RSA Security week in San Francisco. Peter joined Lockton from EE where he was responsible for all areas of Information and Cyber Security, Technology Risk Management and Business Continuity for the company. Prior to joining EE, Peter was the VP of Information Security at Visa Europe, responsible for the protection for Visa’s sensitive data for the company which had a turnover of over £1 trillion per year.



Martin Golding, head of operational risk, Pantheon
Martin is responsible for the Operational Risk Management function, globally within Pantheon. Prior to Pantheon, Martin worked as an Executive Director, Global Head of Risk Management at Alcentra in Europe and USA. Previously, Martin also worked as Head of Operational Due Diligence and Risk Manager at ACPI, Operational Due Diligence Manager at GAM and Business Risk Manager for AXA Investment Manager. Martin has over 20 years’ financial services experience and received a BSc. (Eng) Hons in Engineering and Business Management from Kings College, University of London, and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and holds the Investment Management Certificate.



Jeff Green, CEO, Balanced Boards & GPCF
Jeff is CEO of Balanced Boards and GPCF. Jeff has held numerous executive sales positions with prominent software providers including IBM and eFront UK both within the financial services and investment sectors. Jeff was nominated for the Lifetime Achiever Award for The Excellence in Diversity Awards 2016 in recognition of his work in championing equality and diversity in areas not known for diversity previously.












Andrew Honnor, managing partner, Greenbrook Communications
Andrew started his career working on political campaigns in both the UK and United States and was formerly a UK government special advisor. Over the last two decades Andrew has developed leading expertise in advising alternative investment firms on all areas of communications and risk management. This includes advising on fund launches, partnership issues and succession, fund closures, controversial investment decisions, regulatory issues, tax investigations, judicial inquiries, and civil/criminal proceedings. Before founding Greenbrook in February 2012, Andrew was a member of the executive committee at News International, advising the company following the phone hacking crisis.



Dörte Höppner, COO & Riverside Europe Fund, The Riverside Company
Dörte joined Riverside in 2017 bringing extensive experience in European private equity. At Riverside she serves a multifaceted role to lead initiatives in Europe and work closely with the HR and Investor Relations teams. Dörte came to Riverside from P+P, a leading German law firm. Prior to that she was Chief Executive and Secretary General at Invest Europe and Managing Director at the German Private Equity and Venture Capital Association. She began her career in financial journalism and communications. Dörte earned her diploma in economics from the Freie Universität Berlin. She has been recognised by a number of trade publications for her contributions to private equity, among them Most Influential Person in European PE and Best Private Equity Personality of the Year.



Lincoln Jopp, COO, Disruptive Capital Finance
Lincoln has worked with Edi Truell since 2012. He was previously a soldier running operations around the world; in his Whitehall career as assistant head of the MOD’s strategy unit preparing analysis for the Secretary of State for Defence on subjects such as energy, rising China and megatrends. He has been on the boards of two London listed companies: Impellam and Tungsten (investee company of Disruptive/COO for three years). He is currently a NED on the board of Tantalum, a leader in connected car technology. At Disruptive, Lincoln is involved in all stages of the deal cycle from fundraising to exit and has a cross cutting responsibility for all investee companies for marketing, media and thought leadership.Lincoln holds a BA in theology and philosophy and a Masters degree in technology and management science. He’s also into the monetisation of data and is a regular on TV and radio.



Tom Lack, COO, Pemberton
Tom has 25 years of experience in banking and wealth management operations, technology, and finance. Tom joined Pemberton in 2017 and is responsible for the looking after the finance, legal, compliance, and operational areas of the firm. Previously Tom worked at Brewin Dolphin where he was COO, responsible for operations, corporate services, IT, as well as overseeing corporate acquisition and disposal activity. Prior to Brewin Dolphin, Tom was Head of Operations at Coutts and before that, Global Head of Operations for RBS Global Banking and Markets business. Prior to running Operations for RBS, Tom held several senior Operations roles at RBS and before that in similar roles at both Morgan Stanley and SBC/UBS. Tom has an MA in Physics from the University of Oxford and is a Chartered Accountant.




Maggie Loo, partner, investor relations and business development, Bridges Fund Management
Maggie has more than 10 years of experience in the impact investing arena. She focuses on fundraising and investor relations across Bridges’ platform of funds, as well as strategy and business development of Bridges as a firm. Maggie joined Bridges in 2007 and spent the first five years as a member of the investment team of the Bridges Sustainable Growth Funds, having worked on a number of investments in the sustainable living theme, including the successful exit of Whelan Refining. Prior to joining Bridges, Maggie worked at London-based Climate Change Capital, a specialist merchant bank in the environmental markets. She started her career as a strategy management consultant with McKinsey & Company in New York City. Maggie studied environmental science and public policy at Harvard University and has an MBA from Columbia Business School.




Tjarda Molenaar, managing director, Dutch Private Equity & Venture Capital
Dutch Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (NVP), that represents the interests of the sector. Since 2003, Tjarda has been a member of the General Council of The Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers (known as VNO-NCW). Since 2007, she has been a member of the Advisory Committee Seed Capital of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. In 2013, Tjarda joined the Board of the Nyenrode Foundation, owner of Nyenrode Business Universiteit and Nyenrode estate. She also chairs the Supervisory Board of a regional childcare organisation. Before, she was an investment consultant with Gilde Investment Management and a management consultant with A.T. Kearney. Tjarda studied econometrics at the University of Amsterdam.



Justin Partington, group fund solutions leader, SGG
Justin is responsible for leading SGG's global offering for alternative asset managers across all its jurisdictions, encompassing central administration, AIFM and depositary services. He is also a member of the Group Executive Committee. Justin has over 18 years of international experience in the fund services and private equity industries and before joining SGG, he was the Global Head of Funds and a member of the Executive Committee for another large fund and corporate services provider.





George Ralph, managing director, RFA
RFA’s Managing Director in the UK and Europe, George Ralph CITP, has successfully founded three technology firms and provides C-level advisory services to numerous firms. George is a true leader and has been managing IT teams and leading technology transformation projects for over 20 years. He has extensive technical experience in network and server architecture, large scale migrations utilising leading technology brands, and IaaS offerings.










Gavin Rees, managing director, Silicon Valley Bank, Global Funds Banking UK
The Global Funds Banking team serves private equity and venture capital funds across the EMEA region with banking services and customised financing. Gavin has over 25 years of commercial banking experience, of which 12 years have been focused on funds finance, following 7 years in structured finance. He joined Silicon Valley Bank from Barclays, where he led the European Private Equity Funds team. Before that, Gavin was a founder member of WestLB’s Funds Finance group in New York. Gavin has a BA (Hons) from Oxford University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.









Andrew Rubio, CEO, Throgmorton UK
Andrew is an Australian-qualified Chartered Accountant with nine years’ experience in the profession and fourteen in Investment Banking. Whilst in the profession, Andrew serviced a broad range of clients in the areas of accounting, audit, tax and business consultancy. In Investment Banking, he worked for Salomon Brothers, Bankers Trust, NatWest Global Financial Markets and Credit Suisse First Boston. During this time, he was involved in all aspects of finance including financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and management reporting. Andrew established the accounting function at Throgmorton during 2002. Since then, he has assisted numerous financial services businesses to get started and has helped transition established businesses that have embraced outsourcing. He blends best practice with a real sense of practicality and is passionate about client service delivery. In late 2009, Andrew became our Chief Executive.




Anne Sheedy, CFO, Vision Capital
Anne joined Vision Capital in 2017 and is Chief Financial Officer with overall responsibility for financial matters relating to the firm and its investment funds. Anne joined Vision Capital from EQT where she held the role of General Partner. Prior to that Anne spent 10 years at Terra Firma Capital Partners Ltd where she held a number of positions including Director of Investor Reporting and Investor Relations Director for Australia and New Zealand. Anne also worked at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and at APCI. Anne holds a Joint Honours BA degree in Mathematics and Philosophy from the University of Leeds. She is a Chartered Management Accountant.




Slade Spalding, Fund Finance, Investec
Slade joined Investec and the Fund Finance team in 2012. In his current role in the UK Fund Finance team, he focusses on providing flexible financing solutions to private equity funds and fund management teams. He works with a range of primary, secondary and fund of funds based throughout the UK to provide GP facilities, structured fund bridging, concentrated NAV-based funding and secondary leverage. Last year, Slade completed c.£550m of lending helping clients improve returns, optimise balance sheets, create liquidity and facilitate opportunistic transactions. Slade joined Investec in South Africa over 10 years ago where he focused on treasury transaction and originated, structured and executed a range of deposit linked products. He has a degree from Bond University with a Bs in Informatics. He also has an AGMA qualification from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.



Andrew Stewart, executive vice president, Citco
Andrew is Executive Vice President of Business Development for Private Equity Funds at Citco in London, with a pan-European mandate. Having worked in investment banking for a number of years – including with a wide range of private equity funds – he moved into the management of financial services companies; Andrew now has over 25 years of experience in providing banking, technology and administration support to closed-end funds in Europe, North America and Asia.



Klas Tikkanen, CFO, Nordic Capital
Klas joined in 2011 as part of the effort to professionalise the organisation and create the institutional overbuild to match the investment organisation's high ambitions. Klas has 6 years’ experience as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, followed by 19 years in senior management functions, mostly as a CFO in private equity or bank owned portfolio companies. Having throughout his career worked almost exclusively with turnarounds and complex carve-outs (retail conglomerate KF, telecom field force manager Relacom, and consumer durables industrial domestic), Klas brought extensive experience from building and revamping core finance and administrative functions while supporting the commercial operations.
