Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Fold-forming
• Anodizing niobium
• Forging for texturing metal






You will discover the magical properties of niobium that allow fold-forming without annealing and creating vivid colors through anodizing. You will cut, file, line fold and texture your bracelet. Anodizing will allow you to color the cuff to your personal taste. You WILL  complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Basic experience with metal working

Materials you are required to bring: All supplies will be brought by the instructor

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Using pliers to shape wire into graceful loops & curls
• Cutting and shaping metal into graceful loops & curls
• Anodizing niobium




Learn to use pliers and other tools to shape niobium wire and sheet into graceful loops and curves. Make squiggle earrings with niobium wire. Make streamer earrings by cutting niobium sheet and shaping them with pliers and your fingers. Anodize them with the rainbow bath technique. You WILL  complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: None

Materials you are required to bring: The instructor will bring all necessary supplies.

Technique: Anodizing, Niobium

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Cutting niobium
• Filing & sanding niobium
• Anodic painting a scene on niobium




Learn to control the brush anodizing technique to create your landscape visions. Cut, file and sand niobium shapes to prepare them for anodizing. A simple resist made with PnP will create silhouettes. Control of the voltages will create the misty effects seen at sunrise and sunset over water and in the mountains. You WILL  complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Having some experience with anodic painting is helpful

Materials you are required to bring: Round nose pliers, chain nose pliers and a flush wire cutter

• Foldforming
• Using chasing tools
• Anodizing niobium








Beginning with a loose fold, hammers, daps and chasing tools will be used to create a mix of raised and depressed textures in niobium. Open out the folds, add more texture if wanted and then anodize your cuff to suit your personal color sense. You WILL  complete this project in class.

Technique: Anodizing, Cold Connections, Dremel, Drilling, Metalsmithing, Metalwork, Niobium, Riveting, Texturing

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Tab setting a cabochon
• Riveting on a bail
• Anodizing niobium








Students will learn to create a tab setting to set a cabochon in a niobium pendant. Cut your shape from niobium with metal shears or a jeweler's saw. File and sand to prepare the pendant for anodizing. Attach a created bail by riveting. Anodize it with your chosen colors before securing the cabochon. You WILL  complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Some experience with metal work would be helpful

Materials you are required to bring: Bring a 6 inch ruler, round nose pliers, chain nose pliers, and a flush cutter. Bail making pliers would be helpful IF you own them.

• Line fold forming of niobium

• Chain making




Create three charms by fold forming without the need to anneal. Anodize them to your personal taste. Make a chain with niobium wire and complimentary beads to craft a unique talisman necklace and matching earrings.You WILL  complete this project in class.

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Designing findings to use with your beaded creations
• Making clasps with niobium wire
• Making clasps and connectors with niobium sheet




Students will learn to use hypoallergenic niobium wire and sheet to create findings. Design clasps, buttons, connectors and bead caps for bracelets, necklaces and earrings. Anodize them with any colors you want to accent your bead stringing or bead weaving. You WILL  complete this project in class.

Technique: Anodizing, Dremel, Drilling, Lucite, Metalwork, Niobium, Wire Work

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Anodizing niobium
• Making a wire net
• Coloring lucite with alcohol inks








From niobium sheet, cut a pair of disks with circle cutouts. File, sand and anodize them in your favorite color. Anodize 28-gauge niobium wires, weave a net within the disk and finish off with a colorful feather created with lucite and alcohol inks. If you prefer, the feathers can be cut from niobium and anodized. You WILL  complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Basic knowledge of tool use

Materials you are required to bring: Round nose pliers, chain nose pliers, flush wire cutters, 6 inch ruler

• Creating easy patterns while anodizing








Use anodic painting with electricity to create the perfect accessory for those animal print clothes. Cut, file and sand niobium shapes. Then paint animal prints using an anodic paintbrush. You WILL  complete this project in class.
