Host District Helping Hands Program

Thank you for your interest in participating in the 2017 Helping Hands program!

While it’s exciting to experience the International Convention as an attendee, it can be even more rewarding as a volunteer. Here is what some of the 2016 Helping Hands volunteers said were highlights of their experience:
  • "Getting to meet wonderful people, the fun vest with pockets (I'm planning to wear it for Christmas!), and being a helpful resource for individuals who need information."

  • "I enjoyed working in the store, and working the lunch room. It was fun meeting different people. It was also nice to hear 'thank you for volunteering' from so many participants!"

  • "Meeting people as I volunteered. It is the best way to connect with many people throughout the convention."

Please consider the following when determining if the Helping Hands program is a good fit for you:

  • You must be an active member in good standing.

  • You must commit to a minimum of 10 volunteer hours.

  • You are required to attend a volunteer orientation for two hours on Tuesday, August 22 in the early afternoon, which will not count toward your 10 volunteer hours.

  • Volunteering could mean that you will miss your favorite event. For example, you might miss the opportunity to attend the World Championship of Public Speaking®, the convention’s most popular event, which requires a large number of volunteers.

In appreciation for your time and commitment to the Helping Hands program, you will receive a discounted registration rate of $325 USD. Once 200 volunteers are registered, the Helping Hands registration will be closed. Thank you in advance for your continued commitment to Toastmasters. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email 2017hostdistrictcommittee@gmail.com or meetingplanning@toastmasters.org.

Warm Regards,
