Ground Transportation from the Airport

Public Transportation

Metro

Washington Metro Area Transit Authority (WMATA) runs an extensive network of buses and subway lines with stations in the Washington, D.C. area and nearby suburbs of Virginia and Maryland. Metro Rail Washington’s subway system, Metro rail, is one of the safest, cleanest and most efficient in the world. Five rail lines combined with an extensive bus system, provides an affordable, easy way to get around the District and the nearby Virginia and Maryland suburbs.

Metro rail hours of operation are as follows:

  • Monday – Thursday 5:30 a.m.  – Midnight
  • Friday 5:30 a.m.                        – 3:00 a.m.
  • Saturday 7:00 a.m.                    – 3:00 a.m.
  • Sunday 7:00 a.m.                      – Midnight

Subway fare cards must be purchased at vending machines located inside the stations. These machines accept coins, $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills and credit/debit cards. The base fare for Metro rail is $1.85; the maximum rail fare is $2.85 during non-peak hours and $4.90 during peak hours. Peak hours are Monday through Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Health Club & Pool Facility: Hyatt's Stay Fit gym includes free weights, exercise cycles, elliptical machines, Life Fitness circuit training equipment and indoor heated pool, which are complimentary for hotel guests. The gym and pool are located on the 2nd floor using the main elevator bank.

 

Parking:

Valet Parking is available to all guests of the Hyatt Regency Washington DC (based on availability). The rates and information are as follows:

0 - 1 Hour      - $20.00

1 - 2 Hours    - $25.00

2 - 10 Hours  - $28.00

Maximum:     - $41.00 (Overnight) 

 

Early Bird Self Parking In by 10:00 am - Out by 6:00 PM - $13.00 Monday through Friday. The garage is open from 5:00 a.m. based on space availability.

 

Garage height is 6'2" - no vehicle larger than a mini van can fit.

 

Payment can be made with any major credit card, cash or charge to the room.

 

The doorman/bellman can arrange for taxis as they are stationed outside the hotels front door. All other transportation can be handled through the concierge located in the lobby level of the hotel ext. 51.

Other Parking:

There is a parking garage around the corner on E Street - next to Starbucks, as well as another garage further up E Street off North Capitol Street. Additional parking can be found  across the street at the Hotel Liaison (same rates apply). Parking at Union Station is a less expensive alternative, but it is about a 10-minute walk.
