Wisconsin has made the most of its unique geography to build core industry strengths that draw upon abundant freshwater and the region’s history in brewing beer. The Water Council invites WEFTEC attendees to visit key industry, academia, pilot, and accelerator sites of Milwaukee’s World Water Hub, including the Global Water Center, School of Freshwater Sciences, Zurn Industries, and Reed Street Yard’s Global Water Technology Park. The tour will also include a networking lunch and round-trip transportation.

Why visit Milwaukee?
With over 200 water technology businesses in the region, academic programs and economic development organizations dedicated to the advancement of freshwater technologies, Milwaukee provides a one-of-a-kind, collaborative ecosystem for water organizations of all sizes.

Founded in 2009, The Water Council, located in Milwaukee, leverages Wisconsin’s unique water technology expertise to both promote industry development within the state and to advance water sustainability best practices worldwide. The organization purposefully built a membership base with a healthy representation from industry, academic, utility and private sector leaders. This coalition has helped guide The Water Council in its pursuit of economic, talent and research advancement within the industry. With initiatives that connect cutting-edge water technology research with one another, with entrepreneurs and talent that can help bring their discoveries to market, and with established companies that need the new technologies being developed, Wisconsin has received widespread recognition for its successful water technology industry cluster development strategy.
