 Welcome to Buffalo!

The city has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years, from a redeveloped waterfront and revitalized neighborhoods to a burgeoning craft beer scene and over $1 billion in new investment. Like architecture? Visit seven Frank Lloyd Wright structures, stroll through Frederick Law Olmsted parks and stay in a grand hotel designed by the AIA’s first female architect.

Enjoy art and entertainment? Spend the morning with Andy Warhol at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, the afternoon with a Broadway show at Shea’s Performing Arts Center and the evening with the Grammy Award-winning Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.

Looking for something more casual? Catch a Bills, Sabres or Bisons game. Go shopping in trendy Elmwood Village. Take in the scene at Canalside or Larkin Square. Or check out Niagara Falls. (Yes, THAT Niagara Falls!)

History buff? Relive where President Theodore Roosevelt took the oath of office. Step on board a river cruise into the city’s industrial past. Or discover the formative years of an American television icon at the Buffalo History Museum.

From family fun, festivals and events to restaurants, nature, recreation and nightlife you’ll have plenty to choose from in Buffalo Niagara. Our itineraries will help you hit the high points, Buffalo wings (invented at the city’s Anchor Bar) and all!

Albright-Knox Art Gallery

An outstanding center of modern and contemporary art, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery has a 150-year tradition of collecting, conserving, and exhibiting the art of its time, giving rise to one of the world’s most extraordinary art collections. Exhibitions and installations are subject to change. M&T FIRST FRIDAYS is held on the first Friday of each month. Admission to the museum on M&T FIRST FRIDAYS is free, with special programs and events for the whole family, and extended hours from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. (only on the first Friday of each month).

Niagara Falls

Jaw-dropping scenic beauty. Thundering roars. Mind-boggling cataracts. Shimmering rainbows. And the raw power of 4-6 million cubic feet of water rushing over the edges every minute of the day. Comprised of the American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls and Horseshoe Falls, Niagara Falls is a true natural wonder that plays Cupid to lovers, a muse to artists and a pied piper to millions of visitors each year. See, hear and feel the falls from below on board the legendary Maid of the Mist. Get up close and personal (and wet) as you stand less than 20 feet away from Bridal Veil Falls on the Cave of the Winds tour. And stride to the edge of an observation tower extending out into the Niagara Gorge to view all three spectacular falls from a single site. Designed by iconic landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, Niagara Falls State Park is the nation’s oldest state park, with lush scenery, fabulous hikes and views that capture the original splendor that awaited the first visitors to the region. The Aquarium of Niagara is also nearby, featuring penguins, sea lions and other aquatic creatures from around the world. Don’t leave the park at dark, though, because each night of the year, the falls illuminate in a spectacular display of rainbow colored light. From May through November you’ll also want to stay for the Illumination fireworks on Fridays and Sundays. Other fun things to do nearby include wet and wild whitewater rides through the Niagara Gorge on a Whirlpool Jet Boat or Niagara Jet Adventures. Or, take in the stunning beauty of the gorge by hiking Devil’s Hole State Park. You can also learn how the falls are used to generate power through free interactive exhibits at the Niagara Power Vista. And Old Fort Niagara will take you back through more than 300 years of history. From the breathtaking beauty of this natural wonder, all the way down to the oversized plastic ponchos, Niagara Falls USA is a North American treasure you won’t want to miss during your Buffalo vacation!

Buffalo Bisons Baseball

Coca-Cola Field, home of the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons of the International League, was completed prior to the team's 1988 season. Still one of the largest parks in all of Minor League Baseball, the jewel of Downtown Buffalo continues to be the standard in the realm of sports stadiums. In 2012, the ballpark will feature the largest HD video board in all of minor league baseball. The new BisonsTV HD from Daktronics will measure 80ft by 33ft and add a new level of entertainment for Bisons fans. That, with the four-tiered Bully Hill Party Deck in right field, luxurious suites throughout the club level, in-stadium restaurant and expansive tent area in centerfield, Coca-Cola Field continues to be on the cutting edge of sports entertainment venues.
