Technique: Chain Maille

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Will learn to open and close jump rings
  • Will learn to follow written chain maille instructions
  • Learn how to include texture into a chain maille weave

The Sassy Swirl of Rings Bracelet is a beautiful chain maille bracelet that has movement and shine. This bracelet combines smooth and twisted jump rings in a combination that adds texture and increases the beauty and interest of the piece. Once you have learned to make the bracelet, you could in the future make a matching necklace and earrings. Most students should complete the bracelet in class. You WILL complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Ability to work with pliers

• Learn to read written chain maille directions
  Learn to add balls into a chain maille weave
  • Learn to weave a chain maille design

The Roosa with Gold Balls bracelet is a chain maille weave that is both beautiful and comfortable on the wrist. The gold balls add a piece of interest to the design. The gold balls can be changed to silver balls for the class if you desire. Most students will finish the bracelet in class. You will love working with pliers and jump rings to make this beautiful bracelet! You WILL complete this project in class.

• Ability to read and understand written chain maille instructions
  • Learn to integrate crystals into a chain maille weave
  • Simple wire work of making a closed loop

The Super Chick Bracelet is a beautiful chain maille piece that you can individualize with your selection of color(s) of crystals. You will utilize wire to integrate the crystals into the bracelet. Most students should complete the bracelet in class. You will love the look and feel of this bracelet on your wrist. You WILL complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Ability to work with pliers

Materials you are required to bring: Ten 6mm bicone crystals in color(s) of your choice, Medium sized single row clasp, Chain nose pliers, Flat nose pliers, Round nose pliers (optional - limited number available in class), Wire cutters (optional - limited number available in class), Task lamp and extension cord (optional)

  • Learn to build a woven rope type chain

The Tryzantine Bracelet is a wonderful chain maille piece of jewelry. Utilizing pliers, you will weave this rope type chain and integrate a closed ring into the active chain design. It is fun to make and very comfortable to wear. Most students should complete the bracelet in class. You WILL complete this project in class.

  • Learn to fit a chain maille ring to your finger

The X Ring is a chain maille finger ring that is a breeze to make. You make it to fit any finger on your hand so that it is very comfortable to wear. The chain maille flower on the top adds interest to the ring. All students should complete the project in class. You will love to wear this custom fit ring. You WILL complete this project in class.
