Technique: Annealing,Basics,Coloring Metal,Enameling,Metalwork,Tool Instruction,Torchwork

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Basic enameling skills using a torch
  • Safety with torch firing enamels
  • Learning what tools are used in process

In this class you will learn to torch fire copper pieces using a HotHead. First will be the process of torching tubular beads. In the second half you will do flat pieces, headpins and spheres by a dipping method. In this class you can make as many pieces as time allows.You WILL complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: The ability to work with both hands Know basic safety skills of a using a torch. Must be 18

Materials you are required to bring: 1 canister of Mapp gas (yellow canister) Available at most hardware or home improvement stores, safety glasses not required----welders apron, must wear cotton clothing

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Basic torch skills
  • Safety with enameling
  • Fusing enameled pieces


Make a fun Journal that you can write in. We will cut punch out the metal for the journal and embellish the front with a subject of your choice. The journal will be bound in a simple leather weaving technique. You WILL complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Willing to work with fire. Must be 18

Materials you are required to bring: File for metal, steel wool, metal punch--1.8, MAPP gas---yellow, canister available at most hardware and home improvement stores, wear cotton clothing, safety glasses

• learn the basic skills of using the torch
  • Wire wrapping technique
  •Safety with enameling


This will be fun! Enameling flowers and beads to add color to the industrial looking necklace. Adding chain and recycled bike chain to form the length of this fun necklace.You WILL  complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Understand the use of a torch, Must be 18

Materials you are required to bring: Mapp gas, safety glasses, cotton clothing, 2-needle nose pliers, wire cutters
