Technique: Bead Embroidery

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Backstitch
  • Brick stitch edge
  • Anchor stitch

Take a walk on the artful and whimsy way of beading. This piece is a must-do cuff, great for anyone with an adventurous heart. Follow the lines, dots, arches and pathways with beads on the top of the fanciful fabric provided to you. Each beaded cuff will be as unique as you are. A wonderful surprise of your own designed cuff is waiting at the end. You will learn how to stitch several basic embroidery stitches in creative and dimensional ways. You WILL NOT complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Some bead weaving or embroidery experience with any stitch, to be familiar working with needle and thread

Materials you are required to bring: Task lamp, bead mat, needles, thread of choice and Fireline 6 pound in both colors preferred, and E-6000

• Anchor stitch
  • Brick stitch edge
  • Peyote branching

Walk the beaded path with me using handmade components from Greece. Learn 3D level beading, BI-Color outlining, and how to capture and place organic materials. This stunning natural beauty will encourage you to express your own travel experience in your art. This cuff is a real show stopper. You will learn to use beads to create a rich texture using basic bead embroidery stitches. You WILL NOT complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Beginning bead embroidery but students must know basic even count peyote

Materials you are required to bring: Task lamp, fine scissors, thread of choice Fireline 6 pound smoke recommended, bead mat, E-6000 glue, and needles
