Level: Beginner Description of Workshop Levels
Technique: Assembly,Bead Stringing/Knotting,Bead Weaving,Wire Work

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
Peyote stitch
  Basic bead stringing
  • Crimping/finishing

Peyote stitch 24k gold and sterling silver metal seed beads around metal channel beads and accent them with Swarovski pearls and a metal crown charm to create this designer inspired bracelet and earring set. Students will assemble this bracelet and earring set using basic stringing techniques and basic wire work techniques.. You WILL NOT complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Prior experience with peyote stitch is a plus

Materials you are required to bring: Scissors, thread zapper, 2 needle nose pliers, 1 round nose plier, crimper tool, bead mat, hypo cement glue, wire cutters, task lamp (optional)

Technique: Bead Weaving

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
Beading versatile jewelry
  Spiral rope stitch
  • Peyote stitch

Bead weave loops of pearls and link them together to create a versatile focal component that can also be worn as a bracelet. The neckstrap is composed of Swarovski pearls and crystals using the spiral rope stitch and is attached to the pearl links with peyote stitched toggle clasps.This beaded piece of jewelry can be worn multiple ways: as a pearl linked bracelet, as a bead wrap bracelet, as a necklace with pearl focal piece and as a beaded choker. It's the epitome of beaded jewelry that can be worn from day to night and this project will certainly push your beading skills to new levels as multiple bead weaving stitches are combined to create this wearable and versatile piece.. You WILL NOT complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Previous bead weaving experience required, including proficiency with peyote stitch. Knowledge of multiple bead weaving skills a plus.

Level: Intermediate Description of Workshop Levels
Technique: Bead Weaving

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
Right Angle Weave (RAW)
  Embellishment stitch
  • Beading around a pre-fab bangle

Bead around a blank channel bangle cuff using right angle weave stitch and embellish with firepolish beads or Swarovski pearls. Students will learn how to bead a right angle weave (RAW) strip with metal seed beads and bead around a pre-fabricated metal bangle. Then the beaded strip will be embellished with metal seed beads and accent beads. Students can choose from a variety of metal finishes for the pre-fab cuff and metal seed beads. An upgrade fee will apply for certain metal finishes, such as 24k gold or sterling silver. You WILL NOT complete this project in class.
