Technique: Bead Stitching,Bead Weaving

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Peyote stitch two-holed superduo beads
  Attaching beadwork to special finding
  • Ending and adding thread

Relax and bead! Let's create a 1 1/2 inch wide statement cuff using the popular superduo beads in a peyote stitch technique. Follow a charted pattern for a modern and wearable chevron pattern in choice of one of two colorways. Learn to attach your beadwork to a unique metal plated finding, embellish edges, and stitch on twin magnetic clasps. Students will complete at least one side of their cuff, connect to the finding, and learn how to add the clasps. Some may finish the whole cuff. Choice of turquoise & black with silver finding, or tweedy gold & black with antique gold finding. A chill class for everyone with some stitching experience. You WILL NOT complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Familiarity and comfortable with any seed bead stitching, peyote most helpful

Materials you are required to bring: Beading thread (Fireline or Wildfire black is suggested), beading needles, task lamp and extension cord, scissors, bead mat, pen to make notes on paper pattern
