Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Students will learn how to torch fire enamel
  • Students will learn how to cut tubing
  • Students will learn how to add color to metal using enamels


Like a tiny palette of oil paints, Paint Pot Pendant will display your favorite enamel colors all in one beautiful torch-enameled pendant! In class, we will cut your design shapes from sheet copper (or use my designs) to create the bottom and domed top plates, then create the tiny paint pots to fill the bezel opening to later be filled with luscious enamel colors! We will use a jeweler's saw to cut our tubing and pendant sections. You will leave the workshop with a finished Paint Pot Necklace to proudly wear and say “I made this myself!”You WILL  complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Student should not be uncomfortable using a torch

Materials you are required to bring: Wear natural fiber clothing, closed-toe shoes, bring magnifying glasses for close-up work. Also, bring what you can from the following list. I will have a few of these things to share with the class, but not enough for everyone to use all the time: Saw frame, 2.0 saw blades, flat nosed pliers, round nosed pliers, medium bailing pliers, tweezers, small ball peen hammer or chasing hammer, metal files, fine Sharpie marker, small ruler. Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Students will learn how to use a kiln to enamel a pendant
  • Students will learn how to create a special webbing effect with enamels
  •Students will learn how to add color to metal using enamels


Create a magical domed pendant using a little-known kiln enameling process. No two are ever alike and the results are always incredible! Each student will learn kiln enameling, metal-working skills, cold-connecting and soldering techniques and leave with a beautiful complete necklace in her choice of color and size. Students should wear closed-toe shoes, natural fiber clothing, and have hair tied back.You WILL  complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Willingness to use a torch. A positive attitude and a happy outlook :)

Materials you are required to bring: Students MAY wish to bring their own Crop-A-Dial, dust mask, goggles, wire flush cutters, metal shears, chasing hammer, narrow flat-nosed pliers, small steel bench block, medium bailing pliers, pounding pad. Instructor will have extras to share of all supplies.

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Students will learn how to torch fire enamel
  • Students will learn how to prepare copper for enameling
  • Students will learn how to add color to metal using liquid and 80 mesh enamels


A combination of enameling techniques merge beautifully in “Made from Scratch: Enameled Panel Necklace.” In this workshop, each student will learn basic torch fire enameling techniques and how to work with basic 80 mesh enamel, liquid enamel, sgraffito (scratching patterns in enamel), wet packing, and necklace assemblage skills. Every student will leave this workshop with a finished enameled panel necklace. Many enamel colors and eight different necklace designs will be offered. Students will be given a choice of templates or may create their own. Beginners are welcome! You WILL  complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Willingness to use a torch. Must have a positive attitude and a happy heart :)

Materials you are required to bring: Students should wear natural fiber clothing and closed toed shoes. Although the instructor will provide everything for the completion of this project, students may wish to bring their own Crop-A-Dial punch (available at craft stores) and round nose, chain nose and flat nose pliers.

Technique: 3D Design,Basics,Design,Hydraulic Press,Metalsmithing,Metalwork,Technique Based,Texturing,Tool Instruction

Students will be trained using two different hydraulic presses, a Bonny Doon (Rio Grande brand) and a Potter (Potter USA brand) hydraulic press. BONUS! Potter USA will give every student a free press accessory such as a pancake die! Students will have hands-on experience with one or both presses and make some basic shapes with the copper provided. The following are topics that will be covered:You WILLNOT  complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: None

Materials you are required to bring: Nothing required. Students should wear closed-toe shoes, have long hair tied back, and not have long flowing sleeves..
