Level: Advanced Description of Workshop Levels
Technique: Assembly,Bead Weaving

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Learn to make a geometric bail
  • Create rondelle shaped beaded beads
  • Bead around a ring form
 


Components are the name of the game in this fabulous pendant. Students will learn 3 separate components, each stunning on their own. We will then combine them into one stunning piece. This project includes herringbone, peyote stitch, right angle weave, and a teeny tiny bit of flying by the seat of your pants. Learning how to bead-off-book helps to build confidence and expands your bead world in the best sort of way. You WILL NOT complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Student should be proficient in multiple bead stitches and feel comfortable with making beady judgment calls. They should also be comfortable working at a slightly faster pace, as there is a lot of ground to cover in this class

Materials you are required to bring: Scissors, beading surface, microcrystalline wax or beeswax, task lamp and magnifiers if necessary.

Technique: Embroidery,Finishing

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Embroidery basics
  • How to layer and finish felt
  • Set an eyelet


Luscious wool felt is transformed into fabulous earrings in a flash. Learn to shape felt and embellish it with some basic embroidery stitches. Your instructor will have many samples, but this is a class where creativity is encouraged. Feel free to interpret the design in whatever way the spirit moves you. Instructions include templates for 3 different shapes. Students will also learn how to set an eyelet. This is a great beginner class.
You WILL complete a project in this class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Students should know how to thread a needle

Materials you are required to bring: Ball point pen, pointy scissors, chain nosed pliers or flat pliers, an eyelet setter if you have one, and don't buy one especially for the class.

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Tassel making
  • Weaving a bead cap
  •Basic wire work techniques

Tassels are hot, hot, hot right now. Learn to make your own to coordinate with any outfit. This bohemian necklace features 5 tassels covered with handmade bead caps. This nifty component can be used in multiple ways, which will be discussed in class. This project is a great step up from beginner to intermediate. You WILL NOT complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: None

Materials you are required to bring: Students should have basic bead weaving knowledge, and feel comfortable working with a needle and thread.

Technique: 3D Design,Basics,Bead Embroidery,Bead Stitching,Design

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Learn the basics of bead embroidery
  • Learn the basics of working with marine vinyl
  • Create custom attachments
 
 
Come dip your toes and fingers into the wonderful world of bead embroidery. With this pendant, students will be introduced to the magic of marine vinyl, a marvelous base for bead embroidery. This fun and funky pendant uses both sides of a flat surface, providing the beader with multiple design opportunities. You WILL NOT complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Students should be comfortable working with a needle and thread, no specific bead weaving experience required.

Materials you are required to bring: 6lb Fireline in smoke, pencil, scissors, tweezers with a fine point, microcrystalline wax or beeswax, beading surface, magnifiers and light if necessary
