Technique: Bead Stitching,Bead Weaving,Design

Poetically swirling peyote shells create a meandering line of soft drops in this very three dimensional necklace, centered by a stunning crystal. Students will learn to create an oval peyote tube with different sized beads, change of tube direction, color coordination and assembling various sized beads to form striped, interconnected shells. The necklace offers two distinct sides and can be worn facing either way.You WILL NOT complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Being able to work with small beads

Materials you are required to bring: size 12 and 10 beading needles, beading thread (8 pound Fireline ), scissors, beading mat, craft light if needed

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Tubular peyote with various bead sizes
  • Direction change in peyote to create shells
  • Peyote toggles


Peyote tube segments alternate to create this stunning centerpiece held by a golden spiraling crochet rope. Two closure finish for left and right handed people ;) Students will learn how to vary bead sizes and beading direction to create an intricate open peyote tube. We will also crochet a spiraling rope and make peyote toggles for the double closure. You WILL NOT complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Able to work with small beads, experience in bead crochet helpful

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Peyote
  • Beading fringe
  • Wire wrapping

Ever wonder what to do with those couple of stray pearls, crystals, bits of semi precious stone and such? Make a marvelous, upscale keychain tassle and incorporate your semi-precious bead soup to your heart's delight. Learn how to make a solid leather loop, anchored with garden wire. Wrap that base tight with a shammy hidden by peyote stitch and add a magnificent fringe displaying your goodies. You WILL complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Working with small beads, working with pliers

Materials you are required to bring: Size 10+12 beading needles, beading thread (8lb FireLine), pliers, beading mat, scissors.
