Level: Intermediate Description of Workshop Levels
Technique: Bead Weaving,Design,Mixed Materials

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Two drop peyote technique
  • Reading designing peyote graph/patterns
  • Utilizing mixed media with design

This mixed media workshop is designed to allow students to learn how to create a beautiful peyote pattern in conjunction with a brass bangle. It will teach students how to read a complex pattern and/or graph, and explore personal design options using a digital pattern maker or free-form approach to beading. After learning this pattern, students will be encouraged to use this technique to design their own graphs and patterns and adapt to channeled bangles. The design possibilities are endless. Blue Hydrangea was the cover feature of Beadwork June/July 2017 issue. You WILL NOT complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Flat even count peyote

Materials you are required to bring: Size 10 or 12 beading needle, 6lb smoke or crystal Fireline beading thread, scissors, readers, lighting, bead mat, pencil, notebook. Magnetic Embroidery Board is helpful, but not required
