Dr. Inas Fahmi Gazar

Dr Inas Nutrition Center

She holds a PhD in Nutrition and food science and a certified alternative medicine from Cairo University.

Dr. Gazar has strong experience in nutrition research in Egypt and is often a guest in weekly interviews with the press, social media and TV. She is the owner of Dr Inas Nutrition Center and has more than 20 years of experience in the field of nutrition, food microbiology and food chemistry.
 
Ohoud Ali Abdulla Ahmed AlHammadi

Currently she is a doing her PHD degree in Nutrition, at High Institute of Public Health, Alexandria University, Egypt.

Have a Master PHSc, Nutrition, HIPH, Alex University.

She held various positions as Head of the nutrition department in Kallba hospital, head of nutrition department in khorfakkan prevent medicine, Head of the nutrition department in Khorfakkan hospital. Currently she is head of nutrition department in Al Qassimi hospital

She did her research on assessment of the nutritional care of the critical ill patients in the intensive care units of federal hospitals in United Arab Emirates.

 
Madiha Matar Al Hosani

She is a Senior Dietitian, with Al Maqtaa Clinic. She has been working for 16 years in this major.

She is a graduate in Agricultural of Science Specializing in Food industries from UAE University.

She has participated in many workshops and conferences and Visiting Schools and presents lecture about diet and health education, moreover; she has been in charge in helping so many trainees with their work.

A DHA-licensed clinical dietitian with over 6 years of experience. I started my career with completing Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Sharjah, UAE.

Currently working as a clinical dietitian at a well-known catering company; Abela & Co., assuming dual roles of clinical dietetics and nutrition being based in a hospital in addition to providing nutrition services including menu planning and nutrition analysis for different corporate and educational institutes.

Through the course of my internship I have completed clinical and community training at DHA and MOH hospitals, in addition to schools, nursing homes and participation in awareness campaigns.

Dr Najamunissa Basha
Consultant in Family Medicine WSI Diabetes

She is a Consultant in Family Medicine With special Interest in Diabetes. After completing her MBBS from India she moved to the UK where she joined the specialist training(VTS) and achieved her CCT in General Practice/ Family Medicine. She also completed her MRCGP from the Royal College of General Practitioners, London. She also trained in Family Planning and obtained a DFFP.

She has a great interest in Diabetes care and achieved Post Graduate Diploma in Diabetes with Merit Award from the University of Leicester, U.K. She moved to KSA in 2011 and worked in Premier Institutions like King Fahd Medical City and the Ministry of National Guard hospital in Riyadh. She has recently moved to Abu Dhabi.

Apart from family medicine she has experience in Home Health Care and Chronic Disease care.

Her clinical interest includes nutritional therapy, pharmacologic therapy and patient education for self-management in Type 2 Diabetes. She has been actively involved in prevention and management of Type 2 Diabetes within primary care, oraganising educational events for patients. She was also responsible for regular teaching and clinical meetings for Diabetes in primary health care for trainees and colleagues.

She was instrumental in establishing a Specialized Diabetes Clinic in Primary Health Care and served as broad member for Chronic Disease Care Committee in King AbdulAziz Medical City, Riyadh, Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs, Riyadh.

 
Rebecca Baskett
Dietitian
Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi

She is a New Zealand trained and Registered Dietitian who has been practicing clinical Dietetics for over 10 years. She has expertise in surgical, critical care and Transplant Dietetics.

In her most recent role she worked in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Auckland city hospital and was the lead Dietitian for the National NZ Heart and Lung Transplant Service. She has experience working in the specialty of Bariatric surgery at two large public hospitals in NZ (North Shore and Auckland City).

She has worked both in the outpatient and acute care/critical care environment providing perioperative nutrition support for patients who have undergone gastric sleeve, gastric bypass (R ‘n’ Y and mini loop), gastric band and Duodenal switch. She has been working at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi since October 2016. Since joining CCAD she has been fortunate to be involved in setting up the Transplant service, with the first Transplant due to take place this year.

She has done her BSc Major in Human Nutrition & PGDip Dietetics Otago University NZ.

 
Amjad Jarrar

He has a Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Nutrition and Food from Applied Science University/Jordan and Jordan University.

His professional experience includes 15 years as an instructor in two universities, more than 10 years as sport nutrition consultants in Abu Dhabi sport clubs, more than 4 years as a supervisor in nutrition and food science labs and two years as hospital nutritionist.

He has published 9 articles in Peer Reviewed Journals. His research interests include sport nutrition, metabolic syndrome, and glycemic index.

 
Amani Kamal

Currently she is working as Nutrition & Public Health Instructor- Zayed University, Abu Dhabi Public Health Authority Ambassador.

She developed modern Nutrition care process policies &Public health Nutrition promotion programs JCI Advised organizations on food safety procedures, planning to assist with the establishment, operation, and evaluation of facilities health and nutrition programs.

Plan, evaluate and conduct Health & nutrition education programs and develop educational materials for various audiences and develop, administer and supervise Weqaya- CVD healthy food programs.

Planed and conducted training programs, and institutional management and administration for Dietitians, health-care personnel and the general public.

She holds a Master in Nutrition Science and Policy (MNSP), Tuft University, Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, USA and Bachelors of Medical Science King Fisal University, Nutrition College, KSA.

 
Dr Eeva-Liisa Langille
Medical Director, Pediatric Department,
Cambridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center

Born in 25.12.1957 in Oulu Finland where also completed primary and secondary schools as well as completed the MD studies in Oulu University Medical Faculty by 1985. After working 4 years as a GP and building the family up with sons number 2 and 3, she completed the Specializing studies working both in Central Hospital of the Central Finland in Jyvaskyla and Oulu University Hospital to be granted the graduate degree of Specialist in Pediatric Medicine 1993. The same year transferred to Newcastle Australia to continue to subspecialty of Neonatology and FRACP (Fellow of Royal Australasian College of Physicians), which achieved in 2005.

Dr Eeva-Liisa worked in the United Arab Emirates, Tawam Hospital for 4 years as a Neonatal Registrar and Fellow, and in John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle Australia as Neonatal Fellow from 2002 to 2005 after which she worked short time in Royal Hospital for women in Sydney, Australia.

Dr Eeva-Liisa then worked as a Pediatric Consultant in Finland in Vaasa Central Hospital for 2 years before transferring to United Arab Emirates again to continue as Division Head of General Pediatrics in Sheikh Khalifa Medical City until 2012. She then transferred to the private sector establishing the Pediatric Department in the newly opened Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi from 2012-2014, transferring again to new field to establish the Pediatric care in Cambridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Abu Dhabi where she still continues as Medical Director for Pediatrics for both Abu Dhabi and Al Ain units of CMRC.

Dr Eeva-Liisa is also Lactation consultant (IBCLC) since 2005 and passionate protector and promoter of breastfeeding, lecturing in Finland, Australia and Sri Lanka and of course United Arab Emirates about benefits to both mothers and babies of breastfeeding. She is also keenly interested and experienced in feeding difficulties with small infants and children and promotes nutritionally balanced, safe and affordable feeding suited to the particular child as way to improve growth and development.

 
Bathool Nisar

Started, Organized, & Managed The Clinical Dietetics Department at Mafraq Hospital in 2001, initiated & implemented the MNT (Medical Nutrition Therapy) for the Nutritional Management of the patients.

She have various presentation on ‘The importance of Diet & Nutrition’ for the Cancer Symposium held in Al Ain which was sponsored by UICC (a WHO body), and organized by the Ministry Of Health U.A.E. and GCC , Nurse-Driven Enteral Feeding Protocol Improves Caloric Intake In Critically Ill Patients- study published in the CHEST (American College of Chest Physicians Publication) October 2007, coordinated with the Critical Care Physicians in doing this study., Presentation on Ketogenic Diet The Asian Aspect – at the Pediatric Neurology Conference, Abu Dhabi November, 2011

She started the Ketogenic Diet Clinic for treatment of Pediatric Population with Intractable Seizures, 2011.

 
Dimitrios Papandreou
Associate Professor of Nutrition

Dr Dimitrios Papandreou is the Assistant Dean for Research and Graduate studies and an Associate Professor of Nutrition and Dietetics in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at Zayed University.

He holds a Ph.D. from Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and 2 Master Degrees from Columbia University, NY. USA. He is also a Registered Dietitian licensed from USA.

Dr Dimitrios has published 60 research articles in peer reviewed international journals with and h- index 15. Finally, he is also the Editor in Chief of a recently new journal launched in 2016 named ‘Arab Journal of Nutrition and Exercise”.

 
Alice Sabounji

She holds a Master’s degree in human nutrition from the University of Delaware, USA and a bachelor degree in nutrition and dietetics from the Saint Joseph University in Lebanon.

Mrs. Sabounji currently works as a clinical dietitian at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for women and children and provides medical nutrition therapy for the treatment and prevention of many diseases such as gestational diabetes, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, obesity, food allergies, failure to thrive and gastrointestinal disorders.

She is also involved in the evaluation and the development of feeding plans for babies in the Neonatal Intensive Clinic.

 
Fatima Sadek
Senior Dietician and Public Health Officer,

Fatima Sadek, is Imperial College London Diabetes Centre’s Senior Dietician and Public Health Officer.

Fatima received her Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition & Dietetic s from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, and her Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Waterloo, Canada.

Fatima has been a featured nutrition expert on Abu Dhabi TV and on Fatafeat where she hosted the popular healthy cooking show “Sukar Mazbout” which has reached millions of households in the Middle East since its launch in 2009.

In addition to her clinical work, Fatima is an expert conference speaker on nutrition related subjects and leads the center’s Public Health Outreach Program, educating school children, corporations and the wider community about the need for a healthy lifestyle and good diet.
