Dr. Ramprasad Muthukrishnan
Assistant Professor & Physiotherapist

Dr. Ramprasad,M: Completed Master of Sports physiotherapy and Ph.D in Spine and Motor Control Rehabilitation at Center of Excellence for Sports Sciences, Guru Nanak Dev University, India. He worked in the areas of reflex level activation of spinal muscles through perturbed stability exercises and influence of kinesiophobia on reflex level activation of spinal muscles.

He was a Post Doctoral Fellow of DST-CSI- Cognitive Science, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India at Faculty of Disability Management and Special Education (FDMSE), Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore, India, for a project on “Play and Executive Function in Toddlers”. He received training at Capital Medical University, Beijing, china for translational neuroscience; fundamental research to clinical application, funded by IBRO. 

He served as HOD clinical services (physiotherapy) and Principal of Srinivas College of Physiotherapy and Research Center, Mangalore, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, India. He guided several PG research projects and one Ph.D thesis.

He completed Post-Graduate Diploma in Health Professions from Gulf Medical University, undertaken projects on evidence based practice, integrated curriculum and transformative education in physiotherapy. Currently he is working as Assistant professor at Department of Physiotherapy, CoAHS, Gulf Medical University, Ajman, U.A.E.

 
Dr. Sabahat Asim Wasti

Dr. Wasti joined Cambridge Medical & Rehabilitation Center in 2014 as a Consultant Physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. In this capacity he is responsible for the oversight and care of our patients receiving rehabilitative therapies as well as at our partner companies Manzil Health Care Services and ProVita International Medical Center.

He is widely experienced in medical rehabilitation with a special interest in neurorehabilitation. He has vast experience in the management of complications of acquired brain injury such as spasticity, motor impairments, and cognitive problems including memory deficits, fatigue and neurogenic pain. Additionally, he brings an impressive track record and experience in establishing acquired brain injury rehabilitation programs to Cambridge Medical & Rehabilitation Center. Dr. Wasti is also focusing on long-term management of complex neurological disability including developmental disability of the childhood. Additional areas of interest include biomechanics, posture, seating and new technologies in rehabilitation.

He has experience in environmental control systems and emerging robotic therapies. He currently serves as Gulf Area Vice President of World Federation of Neurorehabilitation (WFNR) and as Secretary of the Ethics Special Interest Group of the WFNR. He has served as Rehabilitation Representative on the National Guideline Development group for Multiple Sclerosis in the UK and acts as reviewer for international peer publication neurorehabilitation journal. Prior to his current tenure, Dr. Wasti consulted SKMC in Rehabilitation Medicine and spent 9 years of his professional career at Sheffield Teaching Hospital Trust.

Dr. Wasti received his Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from Khyber Medical College Peshawar Pakistan. He did his Postgraduate training in the United Kingdom and Ireland. He became Member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in 1992. He completed his training in Rehabilitation in the United Kingdom in 1998.

 
Mr. Azzam Kamal

His professional career has influenced his drive to become a highly skilled and motivated physiotherapist. He has abundance of experience in orthopedics and treating sports injuries, with a specialty in knee rehabilitation. His sports injury experience has been strengthened through working for the First Team for Al Ain Football Club. Effective team work and excellent communication skills allow him to excel in managing the physiotherapy team.

He strives to work with evidence based practice and continually maintain up to date through current courses, seminars and conferences.

 
Mr. Dirk Laubscher

Mr. Dirk is a highly motivated and well respected Musculoskeletal Specialist Physiotherapist and have been treating patients for the past 17 years. He arrived in the UK in 2001, from South Africa and specialized in the treatment of back, neck and sport injuries. He is passionate about seeing people healed and set free from the vicious cycle of pain and injury.

He has been the owner of The Back Clinic on Harley Street for over 10 years which has now been re-branded to Rejuv Physio and Nutrition. He has treated various A-Class celebrities actors and singers, West End musical actors, professional ballet dancers and elite athletes.

Mr. Dirk has very practical and functional approach to pain and injury and focus on treating the cause of the problem, not just the symptoms, bringing about permanent results. He also writes articles for Men’s Health and other top London magazines.

Being a past elite athlete himself, he understand the function of the body, supported by my manual therapy ‘Laubscher Technique’ and rehabilitation skills thus achieving  reproducible, reliable results for all musculoskeletal disorders.

 
Mr. Khaled Munther Yaseen

Khaled is qualified spine physiotherapist from Healthpoint Hospital with several years of professional experience in the field. His focus in the last three years is spine musculoskeletal problems including degeneration disc diseases, spinal stenosis, spondylosis and spondylolisthesis. He is also specialized in Dry Needling Therapy, Neurac Sling (Record Therapy), K-Active Taping and Cupping Therapy.

 
Ms. Azza Bekhit

Azza finished her Bachelor and Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy from Cairo University.  She served as the Head of Physical Therapy Department at Cardiovascular Institute for 18 years before she moved to Zulikha Hospital in Sharjah as Senior Physiotherapist. She also served OPD Rehabilitation in Al Ain Hospital for five years and spend 13 fruitful years in Marfaq Hospital as Senior physiotherapist for outpatient clinic in rehabilitation department from 2002-2013, became a member of OSCE  examiner committee in SEHA   Physio-Licenses in 2010-2013 and senior  team leader physiotherapy for Inpatient (critical area) wards. Currently, she is the head of Physiotherapy Department of Ain Al Khaleej Hospital.

 
Ms. Basma Issa

Basma Issa is a Senior Physiotherapist at Healthpoint hospital who specialized in orthopedic and sports injuries cases, pre-operative and post-operative. She is excellent in assessing patients’ physical condition to get the proper diagnose in order to develop a good rehabilitation program including the most updated therapeutic exercises , manual techniques and electrical stimulation modalities . After she graduated from the University of Jordan in 2009, she enriched her experience in Physiomedic Center in Amman Jordan for two years and moved to UAE in 2014 orthopedic and sports injuries physiotherapist.

 
Ms. Deborah Claire Pierce

Deborah Pierce joined Amana as Senior Physiotherapist for our Al Ain facility. Deborah qualified in 2004 and obtained a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy from Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand. She has spent over 5 years in tertiary acute care settings, specializing in neurorehabilitation and advancing in managerial responsibility in New Zealand. Deborah spent 3 years as the team leader for critical care, acute neurology/neurosurgery, stroke and medical units within a JCIA accredited hospital in UAE before joining Amana as Team Leader for Rehabilitation in Feb 2013.Deborah acts as a HAAD examiner for the physiotherapy profession and is CPHQ certified in her commitment to quality service provision and the progression of rehabilitation in UAE. Deborah is currently studying for her Master’s in Business Administration (Health Management).

 
Ms. Kirsty Fielding

With a decade of experience in the field of Physiotherapy, Kirsty was a major contributor to Cambridge Medical and Rehabilitation, where she is responsible for providing specialized assessment and holistic treatment to adults and children with complex neurological conditions and life limiting illnesses.

Prior to moving to the UAE, Kirsty worked for several highly respectable organizations in the United Kingdom, including Sheffield Children’s Hospital where she served as Specialist Orthopedic Physiotherapist in Orthopedic and Limb Reconstruction.

A graduate from University of Teesside in Middlesbtough, UK, Kirsty has also achieved training in the Royal Veterinary College in London and ran her own Veterinary Physiotherapy practice in the UK where she assessed and treated both athletic equines and canines post injury and surgery.

Kirsty is a member of the esteemed Chartered Society of Physiotherapists as well as the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy.

 
Ms. Rania Elias

Rania Elias holds a Masters in Osteopathy and Manual therapy from Saint Joseph University (2008) and a bachelor of physiotherapy from Lebanese University (2006). Rania then pursued many academic and non-academic postgraduate courses to enrich her career to finally earn a Diploma in Physical Education from Cote d’Opale University, France – 2012. She’s also a member of the Order of Physiotherapists in Lebanon (OPL), The World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT), “Federation Internationle des Organisations de Physiotherapeutes Francophones” (FIOPF), and the Arab Confederation for Physical Therapy (ACPT) since 2006

She has over 10 years of clinical experience in treating patients with a multitude of various conditions.  She primarily worked in clinical type settings but have extensive experience with long-term rehabilitation cases. She moved to Dubai with her family in 2013 where she got her DHA License and joined Dubai Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Center “DPRC” as a senior physiotherapist using her strong emphasis based on manual therapy and exercise prescription along with individualized treatment programs. Rania has since pursued and acquired new techniques such as Kinesio Taping through the Kinesio Taping Association International.

Rania is a strong believer in Hands-on therapeutic approach associated with intense patient motivation to achieve optimal healing.
