The Telecommunications Association of Thailand Under the Royal Patronage, with the abbreviation “TCT” is a not–for–profit and professional association in the field of telecommunications for the benefit of telecommunications users and other related activities. It was founded on September 14, 1990 by a group of people, including academia, involved in the telecommunications industry. The founders, from both government and private sectors, recognize telecommunications operations as an essential element in the support of the country’s economic and social development. The establishment was aimed at raising ideas and cooperation to promote all telecommunications activities, including services, manufacturing, administration and technical development, in order to provide Thai people with a better standard of living as that enjoyed in other countries.

The objectives of TCT are to promote the telecommunications and related activities by taking actions in functions that include all aspects concerning radio and television broadcasting and information technology.

TCT membership is categorized into 3 groups, namely, Corporate members (currently 55), Life ordinary members (820) and Annual ordinary members (164).
