CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
The 2017 SA Recreation, Parks and Leisure Conference will be held on Monday, April 3 at the ARC Campbelltown.
The event, with its over-arching theme of ‘Transforming Challenges into Opportunities’, will feature three streams to capture the whole of the recreation, leisure and parks sector:
- • Healthy, Active Communities
- • Business & Technology
- • Government & Planning
It will showcase innovative ideas and emerging trends and has a strong emphasis on sharing ideas and experiences using case studies.
The Conference Organising Committee is seeking presentations on best practise, innovative ideas, emerging trends, research, and case studies across the following themes:
Implementing the SA Government’s 30-Year-Plan
Activating and leveraging a nature-based tourism strategy
Community Recreation & Aquatics
Recreation and Leisure Facility Planning and Management
Parks and Open Space
Recreation Participation
Leadership and Social Inclusion
Technology
GUIDELINES
Although many presentations use PowerPoint, its use is not a prerequisite. We encourage presenters to use other media such as film, photos, etc.
Presentation sessions will have a maximum time allocation of 40 minutes. Presenters are encouraged to allow for and promote discussion, therefore, presentations should be planned for 30-minutes duration with a discussion time of 10-minutes duration.
The 40-minute session time will be strictly adhered to. Sessions which incorporate substantial delegate interaction are strongly encouraged.
PRESENTER REGISTRATION PROCESS
Abstract submissions and presenter information must be submitted using the online system.
Acknowledgement of the receipt of abstracts will be made by email.
Information required with any submission includes:
Title of presentation/ workshop
Session type (single presentation, shared presentation, workshop or panel)
Presenter name(s)
Presenter’s position and workplace/ company
Abstract - A summary of 100 – 150 words describing the issue/ presentation. This summary will be used in the Conference Program.
SUBMISSION CONDITIONS
The invitation to submit an abstract does not constitute an offer to pay travel, accommodation or registration costs associated with the Conference.
Speakers will have the option to register and attend the Conference for a reduced speaker rate. Conversely, if a speaker can only be at the Conference for their presentation, no registration fee will be applicable.
