Let’s take an inexpensive part from the hardware store and knot luxurious leather around it. Candie Cooper will show you the ins and outs of this simple technique that you can use over and over. You’ll also have the opportunity to paint and add texture to your leather tassel and focal pendant. The pendant is surrounded by beautiful Dakota Stone beads and Beadalon findings. • How to cut thick Vegtan leather with Sizzix
  • How to set a snap
  • How to use leather snaps

This quick class is going to cover a multitude of techniques. First Candie will show you how to cut a cuff with the Sizzix Jewelry Studio tool, next you'll learn how to decorate it with leather stamps, last you'll learn how to set a snap in your cuff. In between all of that will be some laughs, dying your cuff with leather dyes, and embellishment options. Learning how to set snaps and emboss leather can open up a whole new world of possibilities in DIY jewelry. Come give this class a go! Sponsored by Sizzix, Leathercord USA, and Beadalon.

  • How to rivet with decorative rivets
  • Stamping and stenciling leather with pigments

One of her most requested technique how-tos, Candie Cooper will show you how to use the Sizzix Jewelry Studio tool to create an amazing leather and tin concho pendant or pin. You will learn tips for cutting leather, vintage cookie tins and more. Once the layers are cut, you will learn how to stencil, paint, and stamp designs onto the surfaces. We will assemble the layers with decorative rivets, add charms, beads and more. Candie will demo how to string the pendant with beads or create a pin. Students will string a blend of Dakota Stones, glass and metals then set to knotting with Beadalon’s Knot-A-Bead tool. This class will go into how to market your jewelry making business, packaging and presentation of jewelry, and overall branding of your style. We'll also visit the Dakota Stones booth to look at what it takes to put together a collection of jewelry. Candie will take time to answer individual questions. You'll leave this class feeling excited and motivated about creating and moving forward with your business! Please note: Business of Beading Part 1 is NOT required to take this class.
