Technique: Chain Maille

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• The student will learn how to open and close jump rings
  • The student will learn how to read a chain maille pattern
  • The student will learn how to add texture to a weave




This beautiful bracelet utilizes chain maille techniques that require a minimum of tools. With a pair of chain nose pliers and a pair of flat nose pliers, the student can easily weave this design. All students should complete this project in class. The 3 in 3 with a Twist bracelet is beautiful and comfortable to wear. You WILL  complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: None

Materials you are required to bring: Clasp - medium sized, chain nosed pliers, flat nosed pliers, task lamp and extension cord (optional)

• Following a chain maille pattern
  • Incorporating twisted jump rings into a weave
  • Different chain maille techniques
 
 
The Turkish Roundmaille with a Twist Bracelet is a chain maille piece that is fun to make and easy to wear. By utilizing two pairs of pliers, you will be able weave jump rings into a completed project. Some students will complete the project in class. This is an outstanding piece of jewelry that you will wear often. You WILL NOT complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Previous knowledge of chain maille

Materials you are required to bring: Clasp, chain nose pliers, flat nose pliers, task lamp and extension cord (optional)

You will weave jump rings utilizing two pairs of pliers to make this magnificent bracelet. Please join me for this class. You WILL NOT complete this project in class.

• Learn to open and close jump rings
  • Learn to follow a chain maille pattern
  • Learn how to weave a basic chain maille design

The Graduated Double Spiral Rope necklace is a chain maille project that is simple to make and beautiful to wear. The weave is timeless and you will find yourself reaching to wear it again and again. With two sets of pliers, you should make it at least half way through the necklace in class. Some students will complete the necklace. Although the kit is 18inches in length, you will be able to upgrade to a longer length if you wish. Please join me for this class. You WILL NOT complete this project in class.
