Level: Advanced Description of Workshop Levels
Technique: Bead Embroidery, Design, Embroidery, Finishing, Gluing/Adhesive, Stone Setting - Cabachon

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Bead embroidery
  • Design and layout
  • Beaded fringe
In this two day workshop the student will start by learning to lay out a collar. A pattern will be supplied but some adjustments maybe be needed. The student will learn how to use grid lines to help with placements of components. The students will than glue patterned suede and a large Bumble Bee cabochon to the collar. Bead embroidery stitches will be used to bead around the cab. Layering techniques will also be learned to give the piece dept. The students will also be learning how to make beaded fringe and attaching this to the back of the collar in a very clean and professional way. The clasp will be adjustable to fit many sizes. This is a wonderful and challenging class but also easy once you get going. I will have 3 different color ways for the student to choose from. You WILL NOT complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Student should be familiar with basic bead embroidery techniques such as back stitch, and picot edging.

Materials you are required to bring: Size 12 beading needles, beading thread, scissors, non-permanent fine marker, ruler, E6000 and tacky glue, light, beading pad, card board such as in cereal box.

Level: Intermediate Description of Workshop Levels
Technique: Bead Embroidery, Design, Epoxie Clay, Finishing, Gluing/Adhesive

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Bead embroidery
  • Epoxy clay mosaic
  • Simple edging

In this fun class the student will learn to design and make a fun day of the dead brooch. The option to use something other than a skull will be available. The student can also make a pendant rather than a brooch. We will start by filling a metal setting with epoxy clay, and then pressing in a skull and beads to make and amazing design. The student will than glue the setting to suede and learn basic bead embroidery techniques to add beads, and beautiful hibiscus flower beads to the piece. The student will than learn to finish the pieces with, a backing, pin back or pendant bail and simple edging. There will be 3 color ways to choose from. You WILL  complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Students should be able to thread a size 12 needle. Be able to work with small size 15 beads. Be able to hold small components. Have basic knowledge of the back stitch but not required.

Materials you are required to bring: Size 12 beading needles, beading thread, scissors, light, beading pad, E6000 and tacky glue.

Level: Intermediate Description of Workshop Levels
Technique: Bead Embroidery, Design, Finishing, Stone Setting - Cabachon

Fundamentals, skills, and techniques covered:
• Back stitch
  • Simple edging
  • Gluing of stones, components and findings

In this workshop the student will be making a pair of earrings, the students will have many stones colors to choose from, they can be post or wire earrings. We will start by gluing the porcelain critter heads to ultra-suede. Than using the back stitch add beads around the head. The student will be able to choose natural stones of their choice, and then gluing those in place. The student will learn how to stitch small tube beads and some other finishing beads to the earrings. Than the earrings will be trimmed, backed and finished with a simple edging. The student should be able to finish one complete earring in the glass, and have a firm and wonderful written instructions on how to finish the second earring. Students will be able to pick from two kits. One with owl heads and the other with otter heads. You WILL NOT complete this project in class.

Prerequisites/Skills Needed: Student should be able to thread a size 12 needle. Be able to work with small size 15 beads. Be able to see and hold small components. Having an understanding of the basic back stitch a plus, but not required.

Materials you are required to bring: Size 12 beading needle, beading thread, scissors, beading pad, light, E6000 glue, tacky glue.
