Inclusion
* Only funds investing in MENA will be eligible for the MENA Fund Manager 2017 Performance Awards.
* The entry form link will be sent to all managers and contacts on the MENA Fund Manager database. Other interested managers can access the online entry form here.
* Funds interested in participating in the awards program must submit all information via the MENA Fund Manager 2017 Performance Awards online entry system.
* The awards will be publicised internationally in the general and fund media. All awards finalists will be honoured and the winners announced—at a dinner on Tuesday 31 January 2017 at the Ritz Carlton DIFC, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
The deadline for inclusion is Thursday 3 November 2016

The Awards 2017 seek submissions in the following categories:

8. Newcomer Fund - 12-24 Months

15. GCC Equity Fund < $50m

Long term performance categories
1. Fixed Income Fund of the Year – 3 year performance
2. Saudi Equity Fund of the Year – 3 year performance
3. UAE Equity Fund of the Year – 3 year performance
4. GCC Equity Fund of the Year – 3 year performance < $50m
5. GCC Equity Fund of the Year – 3 year performance > $50m
6. MENA Equity Fund of the Year – 3 year performance < $50m

Individual categories
1. Outstanding Achievement by an Individual
Any fund satisfying the following criteria will be eligible for the MENA Fund Manager 2016 Performance Awards:
Base of operations
• There is no restrictions placed on the management/advisory company’s base of operations.
Strategy
Fund Categories • Funds submitting for any of the categories with the exception of category 8 (newcomer) must trade/invest primarily—defined as at least 75% of portfolio over the last three years—in one or more of the strategies described by the categories above.
• Funds submitting for category 8 (newcomer) must trade/invest primarily—defined as at least 75% of portfolio over the last 12-24 months—in one of the strategies as described by the categories above.
Assets under Management
• There is not restriction placed on AUM of a fund.
Please submit the USD share class for the awards.
Track Record:
• Funds submitting for any of the categories except category 8 (newcomer) must have a track record of 2 years ending with their September 2016 performance figures. (Please supply all performance figures dating back to the fund’s inception date)
• Funds submitting for category 8 (newcomer) must have a track record of at least 12 months and less than 24 months—that is, 12 to 23 months of performance data ending with their September 2016 performance. (Please supply all performance figures dating back to the fund’s inception date)
Long Term Performance Categories
• Funds submitting for any Long term performance category must have a minimum 36 month of performance data ending with their September 2016 performance (Please supply all performance figures dating back to the fund’s inception date)
Asset Manager Categories
• Companies submitting for the asset manager categories (1 through 9) must have a separate registered entity based in the country of choice.
Judging Decisions
The judging panel will comprise representatives from MENA Fund Manager, leading institutional and private investors and industry experts.
Each member of the judging panel will have an equal vote in choosing the winners in each category. Decisions should be unanimous, but a majority will suffice.
Judging decisions will be based on performance as well as qualitative and structural criteria.
A shortlist of finalists for each category will be announced in November 2016, with the 2017 winner’s revealed Tuesday 31 January 2017 - an important date for your calendar.
