2018 IGUA Spring Seminar

IGUA’s 2018 Spring Seminar falls at a time when carbon management is a key policy driver in Canada. Yet, neither the federal government nor the provincial governments have reconciled carbon objectives with industrial development and energy objectives. Keynote presentations will set the scene and provide insight on the growing demand for bulk materials in a low-carbon future and examine options for driving and defining responsible materials for a low-carbon future. Leaders from Canada’s energy-intensive industries will share their vision for the future of heavy industry in a low-carbon future and explore the challenges and opportunities of carbon reduction for Canada’s trade-exposed sectors in the morning panel discussion. In the afternoon, gas distribution and transmission representatives and carbon trading experts will highlight the key developments in the past year and share their outlook on the upcoming ones in the near future that can impact natural gas markets and the landed cost of gas in Ontario and Québec.

Participation is by invitation only to keep the event small and conducive to a productive exchange among the key natural gas stakeholders (users, pipelines and utilities, marketers, regulators and policy makers). Please come prepared to engage in a productive dialogue with your peers.
