2014 Assets Learning Conference

Firm Connections: Rural Businesses and Rural Asset Building

Wednesday, September 17th, 2014
10:15 - 11:45 AM

Room: Gallaudet

In rural places, it’s difficult to build individual and family assets unless local businesses are stable, rooted to the place and doing well. When rural businesses are thriving, their owners do better, their employees do better and the firms have the potential to grow and employ more people. When they are stagnating or worse, the assets outlook (and reality) for the owner, the employees and the community all spiral downward. This session will feature three programs that are strengthening rural businesses, and boosting the assets and the asset-building potential of their owners and workers as a result.
