Building Financial Capability in Youth Employment Programs

Friday, September 19th, 2014
10:15-11:45 AM

Room: Union Station

Youth employment programs provide valuable opportunities for young people to gain job skills and experience. They can also present an opportunity for youth to learn important money management skills, such as budgeting, opening a bank account into which they can deposit their earnings and saving a portion of their earnings for the future. Join this session to hear about how employers and community-based organizations are helping youth build financial management skills as they develop job skills by leveraging social media and peer learning, utilizing traditional access points and integrating products into their services.
