Impactful Investing: Leveraging the Full Range of Philanthropic Resources

September 20, 2012 2:00 pm - 3:15 pm

Room: Virginia A

This session will focus on how foundations can use every dollar of their financial statement to help further their mission and create social change. By supporting their charitable distributions with investments from the other 95% of their portfolio, foundations have the means in their toolbox to complete their fiduciary duty without warehousing their present resources. Attendees will learn how, by using all of their available funding within a strategic framework without risking their future ability to fund grants, foundations can increase their impact in both the short- and long-term by starting or growing Program Related Investments as well as looking more closely at their Market Rate Investment Portfolio.

Speakers:

  • Tony Berkley, W.K. Kellogg Foundation
  • Dan Letendre, Bank of America
  • Lisa Hall, Calvert Foundation (Moderator)
