Learning Objectives

At the end of this activity, participants should be able to:



  • Infectious Diseases: Improve prevention, recognition, workup, and primary care management of common challenging infectious diseases, including HIV, pediatric respiratory infections, rashes, travel-borne illness, and ID related GI complaints. 

  • Difficult Conversations: Use effective strategies to take patient sexual history, and/or mitigate patient incivility/microagressions.

  • Medication Challenges: Improve prescribing practices of antibiotics and/or management of new anticoagulants.

  • General Family Medicine: Incorporate efficient new approaches to prevention, diagnosis, management and/or referral for patients with chronic cough, musculoskeletal complaints/recovery, non-infectious GI-related pain, chest pain, acute travel-related conditions, common women’s health issues, geriatric ADLs, and/or cancer.
