 Learning Objectives


At the conclusion of the symposium, the participants should be able to:



  1. Implement a team-based continuity of care program to improve perioperative experience and increase patient satisfaction and safety

  2. Use the SBAR model to improve physician communication

  3. Integrate diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to improve outcomes and safety of obstetrical patients

  4. Use up-to-date evidence-based techniques to improve outcomes with pediatric patients during the perioperative period

  5. Utilize evidence-based regional anesthetic techniques to improve the patient experience

  6. Treat patients with the recommended dosage of the perioperative steroid replacement

  7. Use advanced techniques such as awake intubation, topical anesthesia, and cricothyrotomy to improve emergency airway management
