In addition to our main tracks organised by the Ministry of Health, the European Commission and WHO on one hand and HIMSS Europe on another hand, eHealth Week offers interesting and exclusive partner sessions which you are also invited to. These partner sessions include but are not limited to the International Society of Digital Medicine (ISDM), HL7-EFMI Workshop and PCHA sessions. Advancing eHealth in Greece

Managing Director of Greece’s ePrescription service explains the intricacies of successfully fielding over 5.5M prescriptions & 2.9M patients monthly, while ICT experts talk about PHRs, APIs, telehealth & monetisation. BIG DATA EUROPE

Linking big data in health: Open PHACTS in the Big Data Europe infrastructure

Of the four V's of big data – Volume, Velocity, Variety and Veracity – the most challenging for the health sector is Variety. Health data comes from many sources, formats and standards – how can we bring these together to reap the benefits of big data technologies?

Big Data Europe is tackling this challenge head-on, building a big data infrastructure flexible enough to tackle all seven Societal Challenges identified by Horizon 2020. Here we demonstrate our pilot implementation of Open PHACTS, which integrates life science data for drug discovery.

HL7-EFMI Workshop

Title: Connected health data meet the people: diversity, standards, and trust.

Time: Thursday May 11, 2017, 11:45 - 13:00, Room Jupiter.

Abstract: Navigating health data in a connected world requires a personal digital health compass calibrated to individual personalities and needs, coupled with focused actions to develop new competencies. This session discusses strategies for empowering and activating people to cultivate a culture of productively sharing and dynamically using health data by patients, informal caregivers, and health team. Such strategies acknowledge diversity and trust, and can employ standards like HL7 FHIR to open up and manage data safely through trusted third parties.

ISDM Meeting

Title: Development Meeting of the European Chapter of the International Society of Digital Medicine (ISDM)

Abstract: The development meeting of the European Chapter of the International Society of Digital Medicine (ISDM) is open to existing members of ISDM and professionals from the health sector interested in applying for membership. This meeting, chaired by the President of the European Chapter of ISDM, David Wortley, will outline and discuss development plans for the ISDM in Europe and invite opinions and expressions of interest from those wishing to be involved.

 

Mobile Ecosystem Forum workshop

Building trust in personal data

Time: Wednesday May 10, 2017, 12:15 – 13:15h, Room Jupiter.

Abstract: This workshop previews the findings of a new global consumer study looking at Trust. It reveals valuable insights into consumer motivations and behaviours highlighting new opportunities for digital health as well as identifying personal data challenges for greater adoption.

The workshop is hosted by MEF, a global trade body representing diverse stakeholders in the mobile ecosystem.

Its Consumer Trust Working Group looks at data stewardship and innovation of personal data. Each year it conducts a survey of mobile media users to understand their attitudes and behaviours to trust. It tracks consumer understanding and attitudes when it comes to data collection, usage, privacy & security. With the advent of the General Data Protection Regulation in the EU it asks consumers how they want to manage and protect their data.
