Catharine graduated BA in Law from Clare College, Cambridge in 1999. She spent a short period working in China before being called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2003. Catharine joined Baillie Gifford in January 2008 and is the client contact for Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust PLC. Prior to this role, Catharine specialised in the firm’s EAFE Alpha and Diversified Growth strategies, servicing institutional clients in North America and the UK. Catharine is a Client Service Director in the Clients Department.

Algy began his career in financial journalism in 1998 writing for Investment Trust Newsletter. He assisted the founding of Citywire where he  predominantly wrote about the investment activities of shrewd investors until he joined Investors Chronicle in 2006. The 38 stock screen's Algy regularly monitors have an average life of just over 3 years during which they have produced average returns of 90.2 per cent compared with an average of 29.4 per cent from the relevant indicies.

As Investment Director and Head of Smaller Companies Equities for Standard Life Investments, Harry manages the Standard Life UK Smaller Companies Trust plc. He has managed the Trust since Standard Life Investments took over the management of it in 2003. Harry also manages the Global Smaller Companies fund, launched in January 2012, and the UK Smaller Companies Fund, which he launched in 1997. In 1984, Harry graduated with an MBA and joined Standard Life the following year. He has held various investment analyst and manager roles covering US equity funds, larger UK quoted company funds and was appointed to his current role in 1993.
