2018 Psychiatry Symposium
 

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of the symposium, the participants should be able to:



  1. Treatment Challenges: Examine personal gaps in clinical practice and incorporate at least four changes in practice relative to: cannabis use, common side effects of psychiatric medications, population-specific treatments, and treatment-resistant bipolar disorder.
  2. Patient Education: Improve patient education to address common questions about evidence basis of newer/innovative treatments.
  3. Efficiency Strategies: Implement at least one new best practice approach to improve both new patient and return access.
  4. Wellness: Apply at least one new strategy to recognize burnout in ourselves and our peers, and manage personal & professional wellness.





Accreditation

Physicians - The Southern California Permanente Medical Group is accredited by the Institute for Medical Quality/California Medical Association (IMQ/CMA) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The Southern California Permanente Medical Group designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 5.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.™ Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nurses and Physician Assistants – Attendees may report up to 5.5 hours toward continuing education requirements for license renewal. ‘CME’ can be written in lieu of the provider number on all licensure renewal applications.

Self-Assessment
The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology has reviewed the 2018 SCPMG Psychiatry Symposium, and has approved this program as part of a comprehensive Self-Assessment Program, which is mandated by the ABMS as a necessary component of maintenance of certification. This activity awards up to 4.5 Self-Assessment CME credits. The approval period is for November 2, 2018.
