2018 Internal Medicine Symposium

WELCOME!

A Message from the Chairs…

We invite you to join us for the upcoming SCPMG 61st Annual Raymond M. Kay, MD Internal Medicine Symposium.

The planning committee has worked hard to assemble an array of distinguished faculty and put together an exceptional educational program that will address your needs for clinical practice and for maintenance of certification - yes, you will earn both CME credits and MOC part II points for attending this year's symposium!

We are focusing on patient safety as a theme this year, to be woven into the discussions throughout the day. And, back by popular demand from our 2017 audience, our house staff from across the region will present their scholarly work. Our residents bring a high level of engagement and enthusiasm, and in return, they learn a great deal from our "seasoned" attendees.

We hope that you take the time to treat yourself to a day of learning and networking with colleagues and friends by attending the SCPMG 61st Annual Raymond M. Kay, MD Internal Medicine Symposium.

Featured this year:

  • Updates by national experts in NAFLD, NOACS, STI's, and the hepatitis A epidemic in southern California in the homeless population.

  • Breakout sessions to assist you with nuts-and-bolts strategies in motivational communication skills, shared decision-making, rheumatologic work-up, and peri-procedural management of patients on anticoagulation.

  • Thieves market! National faculty Dr. David Scrase will feature cases from our medical centers, highlighting strategies in avoiding diagnostic errors, using the most humorous and engaging methods.

  • And, of course, a great chance to celebrate the dedication of and be inspired by your fellow internists in our Internist of the Year lunch awards ceremony.

See you there!

John P. Martin, MD, FACP, AAHIVS and Kim H. Tran, MD, FACP
