Adopt a Junior Fellow Mentorship Initiative Physician Wellness Essay Contest
Following the ADM’s physician wellness theme, ACOG District II invited its Junior Fellows to share their thoughts and experiences in essay format as they answered, “In the Multitasking World of Medicine, Career, and Family, How Can Junior Fellows Incorporate Physician Wellness Techniques in Their Lives to Bring Balance?" Congratulations to our two winning authors in the 2017 Adopt a Junior Fellow Mentorship Initiative Physician Wellness Essay Contest, Dr. Baruch Abittan of Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine and Dr. Paris Stowers of SUNY Upstate Medical University! Donald F. Richardson Memorial Prize Paper Award
Congratulations to Dr. Angela Robinson in the 2017 Donald F. Richardson, MD Memorial Prize Paper Award! Angela Robinson, MD, recent graduate of the Maimonides Medical Center Residency Program, was selected by the District II Junior Fellow Task Force on Awards as the District's Donald F. Richardson, MD Memorial Prize Paper Award finalist. Dr. Robinson’s research paper, "In the Absence of a Letter: FDA Labeling for Medication Use in Pregnancy," will be submitted in ACOG's national contest as District II's sole entrant. Dr. Robinson was sponsored by the Adopt a Junior Fellow Mentorship Initiative to present her research to attendees during the ADM in Southampton, Bermuda. We wish Dr. Robinson well in her quest to win this prestigious research paper award.

Student Travel Award
We are pleased to recognize and honor the District II medical student
recipient of the John Gibbons Medical Student Travel Award, Sasha Hernandez.
Sasha Hernandez was presented with this award by the Junior Fellow Task Force
on Awards for her expressed interest in women’s health care as evidenced in
part by her maternal health initiative work performed in rural Guatemala.
