MASTERCLASSES

1. Adelaide Oval - Behind the Scenes

Day 1 - Monday 24th October 1.30pm

This is your opportunity to get behind the scenes at Adelaide Oval and hear from the people running the show.  Adelaide Oval has been an  indispensable part of the State's sporting and social fabric since the 1870's.  It has undergone various face lifts over the years but nothing like it's most recent transformation.

The redevelopment has delivered a world-class sports stadium with seating capacity of more than 50,000.  The $535 million re-development included a peak construction workforce of more than 900 contractors with more than 2.300,000 hours worked.  Never before has a stadium of this size and scale been delivered in just 100 weeks.

Spaces are limited to 20 persons - Sorry but this session is now full

2. Adelaide Parklands masterclass, hosted by Adelaide City Council

Day 2 - Tuesday 25th October 1.30pm

The Adelaide parklands surround Adelaide and measure approximately 7.6 km2 in a green belt encircling the city centre.  The parklands were laid out by Colonel William Light in his design for the city.  Originally, Light reserved 9.31 km2 for parklands, but allocated around 1.53 km2 for government purposes.  The parklands are managed by the Adelaide City Council and since February 2007, the Adelaide Parklands Authority.
