UConn Science Salon - Of Agony and Relief: Understanding and Treating Pain

Thursday, March 3, 2016
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
NIXS Hartford
40 Front Street
Hartford, CT, 06103

Everybody hurts, sometimes.  But people seem to be hurting more and more, to judge from our nations' painkiller addiction crisis, and it's hard to know what to do about it.  How do we know who is "really" in pain, and how to help them?  Join us at the next Science Salon, where we'll discuss the genetics of pain and the future of treating it, from non-addictive pain medications to yoga.

Featured Panelists:
  • Kyle Baumbauer, Assistant Professor of Nursing, UConn
  • Crystal Park, Professor of Psychology, UConn
  • Erin Young, Assistant Professor of Nursing, UConn
Moderator:
  • Angela Starkweather, Professor of Nursing and Director of the Center for Advancement in Managing Pain

Admission: $15 per person and includes one drink ticket and appetizers.
