Your Experience Design Roadmap: Bringing the 8 Phases of the Event Experience to Life 

Most of us have been using some experience design techniques for a long time without even knowing it. And using them intentionally and regularly is a lot simpler than you might think. Discover the ease of incorporating experience design into your event design by simply shifting operational focus to that of an empathetic guest-focused approach, resulting in an improved experience at your meetings. This session will introduce attendees to the 8 phases of the program experience and use of the event blueprint as a springboard for idea generation. Participants will have the opportunity to apply this knowledge through a hands-on exercise on a sample event.
Session Objectives:

• Understand and use the power of empathetic perspective-taking
• Introduce/review 8 phases of program experience
• Introduce/review event blueprint
• Practice applying the blueprint and its contents to the 8 phases

Used effectively, convention bureaus can greatly assist meeting planners when organising an event in a new destination. Their local knowledge, connections, contacts, expertise and insider tips can save you a lot of time and money. This session will arm you with tips and advice on how to make the most of your partnerships with convention bureaus. You will hear directly from associations on how they have partnered with convention bureaus successfully. The session will give you:
• An understanding of the services that convention bureaus can offer you
• Examples of how associations can use convention bureaus
• An insight into the importance of building long term relationships/partnerships with convention bureaus
