Vogue Knitting LIVE Recap!

Chicago - October 2015

Chicago 2015

Another great event in the Windy City has come and gone! The Palmer House Hilton Hotel was once again the luxurious host to three days of fashion, fiber, and education. Students flooded the classrooms with their needles, yarn, and questions; shoppers filled both floors of our varied Marketplace; and attendees got to watch a full roster of fashion shows featuring the latest designs in the best yarns available.

Those who attended the Cocktail Party on Friday night were in for a special treat, as Skacel Collection brought yarn and their best Addi needles for everyone to try. Saturday night, author Rachael Herron had us roaring with laughter and wiping away tears as she regaled us with her approach to life and knitting, including losing our fear of making mistakes. After she spoke, Vogue Knitting revealed a special sneak peek of the upcoming Holiday issue fashions.

All weekend long the Marketplace was full of curious and eager shoppers. Some took the opportunity to work on the World's Largest Stocking, which Yarnspirations had started, others knotted up cool friendship bracelets with the team from DMC. If you wanted a fitting to learn your measurements, you were able to get one-on-one attention from Deborah Newton herself, the author of the new book on fit: Good Measure: Get a Perfect Fit Every Time. And of course, people were testing out new yarns and winding their many purchases in the Yarn Tasting and Ball Winding Lounge. Our Beginner Lounge was particularly busy, with so many people eager to learn to knit and crochet.

As always, we couldn't have made the event such a success without a whole team of supporters: our sponsors, who make it all happen, our vendors, whose wares keep people coming back, our teachers, who impart so much knowledge over 3 days, our volunteers, who do so much for us all weekend long, and of course all of our attendees, who make it so much fun!
