Lord Evans of Weardale KCB DL

Jonathan Evans was Director General of the British Security Service MI5 from 2007 to 2013. As head of MI5 he was one the British government’s principal advisors on national security threats including terrorism, cyber security and espionage and was a member of the Prime Minister’s National Security Council. He also led MI5’s work to ensure the security of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in London.  In the course of a long career in MI5 Jonathan worked as both an investigator and an operational officer on a variety of national security threats, specialising in counter-terrorism. He became the Director responsible for MI5’s International Counter-Terrorism work on 1 September 2001, ten days before 9/11.  Jonathan is a non-executive director of HSBC Holdings and of Ark Data Centres, a member of the House of Lords where he sits as a crossbench peer, an Honorary Professor at St Andrews University, and a Senior Associate Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute. He writes an occasional column for the Sunday Times on classic cars.

 
Staffan Ahlner

Staffan Ahlner joined BNY Mellon as Product Manager for Global Collateral Management in 1998. During his internship at BNY Mellon, Staffan was involved in the original development of the equity triparty platform in Europe and became the European Product Manager in 1999. In 2008 he was named as Head of Product Management, Sales and Marketing for Global Collateral Management in the EMEA region. In 2010 Staffan took over product management for all clearing outside the US in addition to global collateral management product. The geographical region was expanded further in 2011 to include APAC covering the same products.  In 2012 Staffan took over responsibility for collateral optimization globally and for all global collateral services and products in EMEA and APAC.   Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Staffan worked at The Northern Trust for four years looking after European based fund managers.  Staffan holds a masters degree in Economics from Umea University, Sweden. Staffan has also studied at Stockholm School of Economics, Norwegian School of Economics in Bergen and has a postgraduate degree in Accounting and Finance from London School of Economics. 

 
John Arnesen

John joined BNP Paribas Securities Services in 2011 and is the head of Agency Securities Lending. The business provides securities lending solutions to a range of institutional investors that include pension funds, asset managers, insurance companies and central banks. It operates from desks in New York, London and Sydney with supporting services based in Paris and Chennai.  In 2009 he joined Data Explorers as a senior business consultant, a data led firm with a strong pedigree for the provision of research and consulting services to practitioners throughout the securities financing industry. Data Explorers was acquired by Markit in 2012.  Prior to Data Explorers, John was head of Securities Lending in EMEA for The Bank of New York based in London where he initiated and developed the bank’s securities lending presence in Europe in 1990. Apart from a brief period as head of Clearstream’s Strategic Securities lending product in 1997, John had spent his entire career at the Bank of New York, 18 years of which were dedicated to securities lending.  John holds the CFA UK level III in Investment Management.

 
Tina Baker

Tina has worked with ISLA in a consultancy role since 2012. Prior to joining ISLA, Tina spent time as a volunteer for the preparation of the London Olympic games. Tina spent 11 years in senior roles in the Equity Financing team at Deutsche Bank and started her securities lending career at Morgan Stanley.

 
Kirtes Bharti

Kirtes Bharti is a highly regarded veteran of the Securities Finance industry in Asia, having more than 20 years’ experience.  Kirtes is Global Co-Head Securities Lending at Scotiabank. Prior to Scotiabank, Kirtes was head of finance for a tier 1 Asia based Hedge Fund and was head of Asia Stock lending at Credit Suisse before that.  Kirtes offers unique and expert insight into the industry having worked on both the buy and sell side.  As recognition of his industry standing, Kirtes is also a board member of PASLA and is committed to growth, education and personal development of the industry and its participants. 


 
Matt Brunette

Matt manages the Financing department for NBIM, which is part of the Asset Strategies investment area. His team is responsible for cash management, securities lending, and FX execution on the combined equity and fixed income portfolio. Matt has been with NBIM for 14 years in which time he has also worked as part of the Equity Trading and Equity Asset Strategies teams. Prior to this, Matt worked in the securities lending departments of BGI, both in San Francisco and London, as well as Morgan Stanley in London. Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of California Santa Barbara and an MSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics.

 
Mick Chadwick

Mick is Head of Securities Finance for Aviva Investors, the asset management arm of the Aviva Insurance Group with approximately  £290 billion in funds under management. The Aviva Investors Securities Finance desk has the mandate to undertake securities lending, repo and related transactions in both fixed income and equity markets on behalf of all entities within the Aviva Group.  Prior to joining Aviva Investors, Mick spent most of his career as a borrower in the fixed income markets, working for various banks and investment banks. He designed, built and ran the European repo businesses of Lehman Brothers (1986-1991), UBS (1991-2000) and HBOS Treasury Services (2000-2005). In addition to various professional qualifications, Mick holds a degree in Mathematics from St Peter’s College Oxford.  

 
Stuart Cogen

Stuart oversees portfolio finance, cash and liquidity administration, and FX hedging. Having joined Marshall Wace in October 2013, he is focused on the continued development of a dynamic, proprietary platform, to improve the execution of these disciplines across Marshall Wace's fund platform. His role also involves working with the firm's counterparty partnerships to address emerging changes in the international funding marketplace.  Before Marshall Wace, Stuart worked at Citadel in Chicago, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and London, starting in Knowledge Management and continuing into Global Treasury.  Stuart holds a Bachelors of Arts in Economics from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

 
Matt Collins

Matt Collins is a Managing Director & Head of EMEA Securities Lending at Morgan Stanley, based in London. Matt joined the firm in 2010 and in his prior role was responsible for the group’s Hedge Fund Distribution team. Matt started his career in corporate finance at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein before moving to Société Générale’s equity finance trading team in 2004. Matt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics & Economic History from The University of York.

 
Richard Déroulède

Richard Déroulède joined Societe Generale in 2005 to participate in the creation of the structured Equity Finance team within the Equity Derivatives department of SGCIB. He is in charge of developing term loan activites, optional corporate actions hedging as well as structured financing.   In 2009 he took on the responsibility of the Equity Finance Trading group in Europe and focused his efforts on the development of client driven business, namely synthetic financing  and equity repo products for asset managers and hedge funds. The Newedge securities lending and repo traders joined the group in 2014; in 2015 the Equity Finance and Delta1 business were merged, and Richard took the lead of the group, with the objective of accelerating synergies in the development of client business, optimising the utilisation of scarce resources and continuing the industrialisation efforts.  Richard graduated from Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan and ENSAE in 2005.

 
Andrew Dyson

In March 2013, Andrew became the Chief Operating Officer of the International Securities Lending Association (ISLA).  Previously, Andrew held  the role of Director Specialist Sales and Head of Account Management, Europe, Middle East and Africa at Data Explorers, now Markit Securities Finance, where he was instrumental in the development of the group’s securities lending risk services as well as day to day responsibility for the groups business in Europe. Andy joined Data Explorers from Prudential M&G, where he was Head of Business Development and Risk for Securities Lending with responsibility for sales, marketing and product development. He was also directly responsible for Risk and the management of the team’s discrete IT resources. All aspects of legal and compliance also fell within his area of responsibility. Prior to his appointment at M&G Prudential Andrew had worked at Deutsche Bank for ten years. During his time at Deutsche he held senior marketing and product development positions within the Agency Securities Lending Business and also spent four years as Repo Product Manager where he was instrumental in the development of the banks fixed income repo franchise including the deployment of front-office risk management tools. He was also was heavily involved in the deployment of e commerce solutions for both clients and counterparts. He joined Deutsche in 1992 from HSBC, where he had previously worked extensively in the commercial bank and corporate finance areas of the business.
 
Matthias Graulich

Matthias took responsibility for Cross Market Strategy for Deutsche Börse AG in March 2016 and is  a Member of the Executive Board of Eurex Clearing AG since August 2014.  In his Cross Market Strategy function he is in charge of strategy for Eurex Clearing and Clearstream. From April 2013 until February 2016 he established and developed as Chief Client Officer and Global Head of Clients & Markets a dedicated client facing organizational unit of Eurex Clearing. Before that he took responsibility as Head of Clearing Initiatives for the implementation of Eurex Clearing’s strategic project portfolio and regulatory affairs.  Since joining the Deutsche Börse Group in 2001, he has held a number of leadership and project management positions at Deutsche Börse and Eurex for various strategic projects, amongst others, the introduction of EurexOTC Clear as well as the merger and integration of the International Securities Exchange.  Matthias holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in North Carolina.

 
Richard Hochreutiner

Richard Hochreutiner heads Swiss Re's global collateral business. He has been with Swiss Re for 8 years in which time he has implemented a group-wide collateral trading and management platform that spans securities lending, repo, OTC derivative and re-/insurance collateral. He is member of the Committee of the European Repo and Collateral Council.   Prior to joining Swiss Re, Rich worked 10 years at UBS in various functions both in equities and fixed income collateral trading and management, lastly running the Zurich based securities lending. Rich joined UBS from CSFB, where he headed the Equity Finance Desk in Zurich. After completing the Zurich Business School and his Bachelors degree, Richard started his career as an Equities Sales/Trader at Bank Sarasin in Zurich.


 
Mark Jones

Mark Jones is Senior Vice President and Head of International Product Management for Northern Trust Securities Lending covering the EMEA and APAC regions. Mark is responsible for all aspects of product development and on-going product integrity for Securities Lending at Northern Trust across Fixed Income and Equity lending. Mark has 15 years experience in the financial services industry and has been involved in Securities Lending since 2003. Mark held operational and project management roles at HSBC as well as a product management role at J.P Morgan before joining Northern Trust in 2010.

 
Mr Andy Krangel

Andy has been employed by Citi for the past 26 years. During his career at Citi Andy has held various management positions in custody operations including agency lending operations, was a trader on the Citi agency lending desk and spent 5 years in Product Risk Management where he obtained Credit Officer status. Prior to Citi Andy was at RBS for 3 years. Since mid-2006 Andy has worked in Citi's Agency Securities Lending department. Andy runs Global Product Development for Citi’s Agency Securities Lending Business and is the current Chairman of the International Securities Lending Association Board.

 
Alex Lawton

Alex Lawton is a Senior Managing Director in State Street’s Securities Finance division. As Head of Securities Finance, EMEA, Alex is responsible for business oversight, and strategy development and execution in the region.   Prior to joining State Street he was a Managing Director and Head of Equity Finance, EMEA at Barclays. In this role, he was responsible for managing the firm’s Equity Finance, Delta 1 and Equity Prime Services businesses in the region.  This encompassed Cash and Synthetic Prime Brokerage, Stock Loan, Delta 1 and Secured Funding.   Alex has over 20 years’ experience in the Securities Finance industry and has worked at a number of firms including PwC, Lehman Brothers and Bank of America carrying out a variety of trading and senior management roles.   Alex is a member of the Global Markets EMEA, Senior Management Committee and the Securities Finance Global Management team.  Mr. Lawton graduated with a BA (Hons) Accountancy Studies from Exeter University, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accounts England and Wales (ICAEW) and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments. 


 
Jonathan Lombardo

Jonathan Lombardo is responsible for business

Presently Jonathan is product specialist for Funding and Financing Markets with a focus on Eurex Clearing’s Lending CCP - its Central Counterparty service for securities lending. Jonathan has over 25 years experience in the securities lending market and has had previous roles at Citibank, Secfinex and Pirum. Jonathan is currently a representative on the ISLA board.
 
Steven Maijoor

Steven Maijoor has been the Chair of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) since taking up office 1 April 2011. He is the first chair of the authority and has been appointed for a term of 5 years.  He is responsible for representing the Authority as well as chairing ESMA’s Board of Supervisors and the Management Board.  The role of the Board of Supervisors is to give strategic guidance to ESMA and make all main regulatory and supervisory decisions. The Management Board's purpose is to ensure that the Authority carries out its mission and performs its tasks.  Prior to taking up this role, Steven was Managing Director at the AFM, the Dutch financial markets regulator, where he was responsible for capital market supervision, including financial reporting and auditing, prospectuses, public offerings, and the supervision of the integrity of financial markets. During his term, the scope of activities of the AFM vastly expanded and he was responsible for building and implementing supervision in the capital market area. In his regulatory role at the AFM, Steven has held a number of international positions, including the Chairmanship of IFIAR (International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators).  Before joining the regulatory world, Steven was the Dean of the School of Business and Economics at Maastricht University, and had pursued a long career in academia which included a variety of positions at Maastricht University and the University of Southern California.  He holds a PhD in Business Economics from Maastricht University, was a research student at the London School of Economics, and has a master in Business Economics from the University of Groningen.

 

 
Grigorios Markouizos

Greg Markouizos joined Citigroup in 1993 and has been Global Head of Fixed Income Finance since 2010. Greg is closely involved in collateral management and risk management issues across the spectrum, including asset-liability management, regulatory interface and oversight, liquidity policy and implementation and industry systemic issues. Greg has chaired Euroclear's Collateral User Group since its inception and sits on a number of industry committees dealing with regulatory, market development, infrastructure and risk issues. Greg is the holder of BEng and MSc degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, London and an MBA from Cass Business School. Subsequently, while working as a trader at Citi’s European Government Bond desk, he also studied Financial Engineering at the London Business School.

 
Shane Martin

Shane Martin is European Head of Client Financing within Global Prime Finance at Deutsche Bank. Client financing encompasses securities lending and single stock flow swap.  Shane joined Deutsche Bank in April 2002 and has been with the firm for the last fourteen years. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, he was part of the Equity Financing team at Nomura. Shane has responsibility for teams in London, Frankfurt and Johannesburg focusing on financing across the cash Prime Brokerage and synthetic products for our hedge fund clients. He achieved a BA in Economics and Masters of Economic Science from University College Dublin.

 
Julien Mazzacurati

Julien has been with the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) since 2013, working in the Risk Assessment and Economics department for the Markets and Investors team. His current focus is on securities markets, securities financing and collateral. Through research, analysis and risk monitoring, Julien contributes to ESMA’s EU financial stability and orderly markets objectives. He also participates in several working groups involving other EU and national authorities and central banks.  Prior to joining ESMA, Julien has worked for five years at the Institute of International Finance, based in Washington DC, first in Global Macroeconomic analysis and forecasting, then in Capital Markets research and policy. Julien holds an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and a Master’s in business economics from ESCP Europe, a Paris-based school.

 
Mathew McDermott

Mathew is head of Global Liquidity Products (GLP) in EMEA and global head of the Distribution and Product Development team within GLP. He serves as a member of the EMEA Asset and Liability Committee and the Asia Pacific Finance Committee and participates in a number of other global funding and liability committees. Mathew is a board member of the International Securities Lending Association (ISLA). Previously, Mathew worked in the European Special Situations Group in London, where he joined Goldman Sachs as a vice president in 2005. Mathew was named managing director in 2010. Prior to joining the firm, Mathew worked at Morgan Stanley in the Securitized Products Group, focusing on structuring, financing and risk management. Mathew has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants since 1999 and earned a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance.

 
Kevin McNulty

Kevin McNulty is the Chief Executive of the International Securities Lending Association. He has worked in the securities lending industry for many years both in the UK  and the US. Prior to joining ISLA in August 2009, he worked for Barclays Global Investors where he ran the securities lending business in Europe and North America. Kevin is a past Chairman of the Association and a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
 
Phil Morgan

Phil Morgan, a Managing Director, works in Nomura’s Prime Finance business and has responsibility for Equity Finance and Prime Brokerage in EMEA. After starting his career at Chemical Bank in 1996, he went on to hold a number of positions at JPMorgan, culminating in sales responsibility for their clearance & collateral management products (including tri party). In 2007 Phil left JPM to join Lehman Brothers and ran Liquidity Sales within Capital Markets Prime Services, before joining Nomura following the integration of Lehman’s European and Asian operations in October 2008. He holds a BSc (Hons) from Cardiff University.

Harald Mueller

Harald Müller, born in 1970 in Vienna, Austria, finished commercial academy in 1989 and worked as a market maker in money markets for three years with ERSTE Bank. While studying economics he operated in the Middle Office for Derivatives with ERSTE BANK as well. After graduating as Master he started with REUTERS in the Riskmanagement as Key Account Manager. Since 1998 he has been working with Oesterreichische Nationalbank covering several  different positions. He spent nine years on Operational Monetary Policy, FX-Markets and Portfoliomanagement – part of it in NY Office. 2007 he moved to the Strategy Division  having responsibility for Tactical Benchmark and Asset Allocation. His current position is Deputy Head of Treasury Strategy Division. He is the first representative of OeNB in the  ECB-Riskmanagement-Committee and his division is responsible for Legal Management, performance measurement, model based trading, Credit- and Market Risk Management and Asset Allocation.

 
Jason Nabi

Jason Nabi is the Head of EMEA for itBit. He has over 20 years of business leadership experience at securities services banks and technology firms. He started as a dealer on the London Stock Exchange before he established his reputation as a developer of new businesses in the capital markets post-trade industry. After trading, Jason moved to Bloomberg and helped run business development in EMEA and established Bloomberg’s presence in a number of new locations. With the emergence of the Internet in financial markets, Jason moved to IBM Global Services to focus on “e-enabling” banks, which led to a focus on post-trade. He took a leadership role at BNP Paribas Securities Services, where he was head of the UK Clearing, Settlement, and Custody business. He spent time at Markit, where he helped drive Asset Servicing, before joining Société Générale to lead development of a new strategy and launch a new business delivering post-trade services. Jason is a frequent contributor to industry media and has in the last 10 years established a number of industry thought leadership forums focused on market infrastructure and regulatory developments. More recently, Jason has helped the London market establish the focus on blockchain in capital markets post-trade, acting as both a member of industry working groups, and hosting a series of industry forums. Jason has qualifications including Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), Chartered Institute for Marketing (CIM) and he has held a number of FCA controlled functions.

 
Frederick Nadd-Aubert

Frederick Nadd-Aubert is a Managing Director of Credit Suisse in the Investment Banking division, based in New York. Within Prime Services, he is the Global Head of Institutional Securities Lending Sales and Strategy.    Frederick joined Credit Suisse in April 2009 from Goldman Sachs (International) where he was an Executive Director in the Prime Brokerage Securities Lending Team. Previously, he held positions in Equity Finance Sales at Lehman Brothers and Sales at JPMorgan.  Frederick holds a bachelor's degree from Northeastern University and an M.B.A. from Boston University. He sits on the board of University Settlement, the nation's first settlement house established in New York City's Lower East Side nearly 130 years ago.

 
Mark Newton

Mark Newton is Head of Prime Equity Finance EMEA at Barclays, based in London. He is responsible for the market, counterparty and operational risks in the Prime Equity Finance business, whilst managing the firm’s equity liquidity and financial resources in the region.  Mark joined Barclays in 2009 to oversee equity financing flows across Prime Brokerage clients using trading products such as stock loan, bilateral and tri-party repo, total return swap, SS and index synthetic inventory creation, and FX spot/forwards.  He a member of the Global Prime Management Committee, Global Equities Operating Committee, and the EMEA Equities Human Capital Programme having a focus on driving the region’s diversity agenda. Mark is Barclays’ representative for ISLA (International Securities Lending Association).  Prior to joining Barclays, Mark was a senior equity finance trader at Citigroup and Goldman Sachs in London.  Mark has a BA in Economics, Markets and Management from Duke University in North Carolina.

 
Ciaran O'Flynn

Ciaran O'Flynn is a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, where he is EMEA Head of Bank Resource Management. Alongside this he represents MS as its Board Member at the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA).  Prior to his current role Ciaran was Global Co-Head of Fixed Income Electronic Markets and prior to that Head of European Rates Flow Trading with responsibility for European and UK based trading of Swaps, Governments and Agencies.   Ciaran has been with the Firm since 1992 when he joined as an IT analyst.  He moved to Fixed Income in 1996 and was an interest rate market-maker for over 17 years in products including Repo, Agencies, Covered Bonds, Governments and Sovereign CDS, predominately in London but including three years trading in Tokyo.   Ciaran has a First Class honours BComm from University College Cork in Ireland, and travelled for 2 years prior to joining Morgan Stanley. 


 
Susan O'Flynn

Susan O’Flynn is Managing Director and Global Head of CCP Strategy, Governance and Optimization for Morgan Stanley. She is responsible for the firm’s House strategy  and optimization of the firm’s house risk exposure to CCPs and associated resource usage across all products, including listed and otc derivatives and securities finance transactions (“SFTs”) as well as working with the CCPs in developing new products, most recently focusing on SFT clearing. She has held this position since July 2014. From 2012 to 2014, Susan was Global Head of Firm Secured Funding. Prior to that, she ran the Firm Structured Funding business, raising long term secured financing for equities/fixed income/commodities.   Before joining Morgan Stanley in 2008, Susan worked in the Structured Funding business at Goldman Sachs in London and New York for three years, predominantly focusing on fixed income financing of vanilla and less liquid assets. Susan previously practiced as a debt capital markets lawyer for two years at White & Case LLC, focusing primarily on emerging markets. Susan holds a Masters degree in Intellectual Property Law (LLM) and a Bachelors degree in Law (LLB).   Susan has recently joined the LCH Limited Board of Directors. She is also a member of the CFTC Market Risk Advisory Committee and Chair of the Risk Management Sub-Committee focusing on Market Conditions. She is also a member of several industry working groups including ISDA and TCH. She has spoken at several conferences in recent years on the importance of central clearing of SFTs including the RMA and IMN.

 
Ed Oliver

Ed joined eSecLending in 2010 and was initially based in Boston as a Relationship Manager for eSecLending’s US mutual fund clients. Now based in London, Ed leads eSecLending’s Product Development efforts focused on new markets and collateral and liquidity solutions.  Prior to joining eSecLending, Ed was the Global Head of Consulting at Data Explorers (now acquired by Markit), specializing in providing securities financing advice. In this role, Ed assisted beneficial owners globally in evaluating securities lending programs, quantifying their risk and performance and providing training and education to market participants and regulators. Prior to Data Explorers, Ed held various positions at Northern Trust, Baring Asset Management and Lloyds Bank.

 
Rupert Perry

Rupert Perry is the co-founder of Pirum, a company which focusses on automating the operational aspects of the global Securities Lending and Repo markets. Over the last 15 years, Pirum has been instrumental in linking up market participants’ securities finance systems using a secure centralised hub, facilitating more operational automation than ever before. In recent years, Pirum has been pioneering real-time operational automation and has linked its community of users to other market infrastructure providers including tri-party agents (BNY Mellon, Euroclear and JP Morgan), Markit (for market data) and Eurex Clearing’s new CCP offering for securities lending. Prior to co-founding Pirum in 2000, Rupert was employed for for 6 years at UBS working on securities finance systems as well as the integration of UBS settlement systems with CREST. Rupert qualified as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young and holds a degree in Computer Science from Durham University.

 
Jules Pittam
Ex-Market Practitioner and Non-Executive Director

Jules’ career started in 1992 with Bankers Trust Co in sales and trading on the securities lending desk. Jules moved to Hong Kong in 1996 with Bankers Trust Int'l in order to set up and establish the sales operation in Asia.  Jules returned to London in 1999 to work for Lehman Brothers. He was global head of sales for the equity finance business which was then part of equity derivatives. It was there that he became interested in the short-selling side of the business and how the data from short selling could be utilised.  In 2005 he became Managing Director of Data Explorers in the early stages of the company. Data Explorers enjoyed exponential growth throughout the next seven years at which time it was sold to Markit. During that period Data Explorers grew from 7 to 110 staff, established offices in the US and Asia and saw the client base grow from 6 to over 500 clients.  Jules is also a Non-Exec Director of Disciple Media, Moneydashboard Ltd and an early stage Social Media company.

 
David Raccat

David Raccat became Head of Market and Financing Services for Asia Pacific in 2014, in addition to his role as Global Head of Market Services which he had since 2011. Market and Financing Services encompasses all client Financing activities, Market Services (securities lending and forex activities), Collateral management and Dealing Services.  David is based in Singapore.   David has been appointed to the International Securities Lending Association (ISLA) board since February 2014.    From 2005 to 2011, David oversaw BNP Paribas Securities Services Global Treasury. Prior to this, he was Head of the Paris Cash & Equity Financing desk from 2001 to 2005. He joined Paribas in 1996 in the product development team, covering tri-party collateral management, equity repo and implementation of securities lending in new markets.   David graduated from HEC Business School.

 
John Shellard

John Shellard is Head of Trading in the Agent Lending Group of Investor Services at J.P. Morgan. He is responsible for both equity and fixed income lending trading, with global responsibility for both. Mr. Shellard has been with J.P. Morgan since 1998 and has been in the securities lending business for 20 years.

Martina Szameitat is a Managing Director and Morgan Stanley’s Global Head of Sales and Marketing in the Bank Resource Management Division.   Martina has more than 20 years of experience in the securities industry. She joined Morgan Stanley in 1992, starting in Corporate Treasury and moving to securities lending in 2003. From 2008, Martina was the Head of the European Securities Lending Desk located in London.  Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Martina spent 5 years in London with Deutsche Bank and UniCredit.  Martina has been on the ISLA Board of Directors for the last 5 years, helping to meet ISLA's goals and objectives during very challenging times, ensuring that the interest of member firms are met to ensure an efficient framework for all securities lending business.


 
James Templeman

James Templeman, Managing Director, is a member of BlackRock's Securities Lending & Finance team & is responsible for securities lending trading.    Mr. Templeman's service with the firm dates back to 2001, including his years with Barclays Global Investors (BGI), which merged with BlackRock in 2009. At BGI, he was a member of the Securities Lending team and was head of trading for Europe. Prior to joining BGI, Mr. Templeman was the head of securities lending & derivatives support at Cogent Investment Operations, part of the AMP Group.    Mr. Templeman is currently a member of the Board of Equilend and served on the International Securities Lending Association's Executive Committee for ten years, including two years as Chairman. Mr. Templeman earned a bachelor's degree in politics and economics from Leicester University in 1992.

 
Roelof van der Struik

Roelof van der Struik joined PGGM in 1998. PGGM is a not-for-profit service provider for six Dutch pension funds with over €170bn in assets under management, providing pension administration for approximately three million people. Currently, Roelof is Investment Manager with the Front Office Treasury department at PGGM, responsible for securities lending and cash and collateral management. Roelof is a member of the board of the International Securities Lending Association (ISLA). 

 
Steve Wager

Steve Wager is the EVP of Operations and Development at itBit. Steve has over 20 years of experience in securities services with roles in custody, product, sales, operations and client services. He has also managed businesses in the US, Germany, UK and Canada, and was most recently the North America Custody Product Head for Citibank's Markets and Securities Services franchise. Steve received his BA in business administration from SUNY Albany and earned his MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Business.

 
Mark Wendland

Mark Wendland is Head of Global Fixed Income Finance at Citadel. He oversees the Global Fixed Income Repo team and the OTC & FX Operations teams with a focus on secured funding, counterparty exposure and diversification and overseeing financial portfolio construction. Mr. Wendland joined Citadel in 2003 as an Analyst within Operations. In this role, he helped establish the self-clearing infrastructure for FI products. In 2005, Mark joined Treasury as a Repo Trader supporting the Global Rates business and was named Global Head of Fixed Income Financing in 2010. Prior to joining Citadel, Mr. Wendland worked at Strong Capital Management within the Fixed Income business. Mr. Wendland received a bachelor’s degree from Carroll College.
 
Casey Whymark

Casey Whymark is the co-head of the Securities Lending and Financing principal platform for UBS Switzerland AG.  He is responsible for the front to back operation and development of UBS’ award winning securities lending program targeted at clients of Wealth Management, Global asset management and third parties.  Managing teams of equity sales traders and relationship managers, he oversees both product supply and distribution, providing automated OTC lending solutions to clients worldwide. The Securities lending business forms an integral component of the firms asset servicing and custody offering, providing both liquidity and supply to support the firms Global Financing Services and Treasury functions.  Since 2013, Casey has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the International Securities Lending Association.  Prior to joining UBS, Casey held a variety of positions within Prime Services at Credit Suisse in London, New York and Zurich. Casey is a frequent industry speaker with broad experience in the securities finance industry is taken from 20 years acting as Prime Broker, Agent and Principal lender within investment banks, brokerage firms and private banks.

 
Roy Zimmerhansl

Roy Zimmerhansl is Global Head of Securities Lending at HSBC Securities Services (HSS) and is responsible for leading the agency lending activity for clients of the bank’s custody business. Roy relocated to Hong Kong in February 2015 to lead the further development of the HSS Asian client base and to work with local markets and regulators as Asian markets continue to embrace and expand securities lending activity.   Prior to this, Roy was an independent consultant, owner of FinTuition, the leading financial services training company, and product specialist at Trading Apps.  With over 30 years in the securities industry, Roy has held senior securities finance and custody positions across a range of market leading organisations including custodian banks, proprietary trading firms, prime brokers, a multilateral trading facility, and a central depository.  Roy continues is a member of the Bank of England Securities Lending and Repo Committee.
