Panel 2 - Application Ecosystem

Applications are the operational components that realize the business value of the mobility investment. The application ecosystem panel supports the theme of the summit “Return on Investment (ROI)” by asking the panel to discuss the ramifications on ROI of three ideas: fostering innovation; enabling rapid development; and enabling "cyber-safe” applications. Fostering innovation describes the mechanism to enable innovative applications grown organically in the organization or procured in a competitive process for the organization. Enabling rapid development describes a standardized environment for developing apps. The environment impacts attracting programmers to develop for your environment. The environment also enforces fundamental security compliance. Finally, “cyber-safe” applications balance usability and security while providing the business functionality required that realize the goals and objectives of the organization. Each of these ideas impacts many aspects of ROI. Panel members and the facilitator will be able to guide the discussion in many directions using these topics.
