2016 FCC Annual Meeting

Welcome to the Farm Credit Council's 33rd Annual Meeting
As always, The Farm Credit Council’s Annual Meeting is focused on giving Farm Credit leaders insights into the trends and developments that will impact the ways in which our institutions meet the needs of their customers. Our overall goal is that you return home from our meeting with a solid understanding of the issues facing Farm Credit and agriculture and with a number of valuable takeaways to make your 2016 productive and prosperous. As the Farm Credit System approaches the 100th anniversary of its founding in 1916, and as we prepare to meet the challenges of an uncertain 2016, we will examine the outlook for the political landscape, for the agricultural economy, for regulatory issues, and other topics of bottom-line importance.

In order to maximize the opportunity our 100th anniversary provides, the Council is working with both Members of the House and Senate to introduce a resolution celebrating the service Farm Credit has provided to rural communities and agriculture over the past 100 years and recognizing the continued need for Farm Credit in the future. To ensure support for this effort, the Council will encourage each institution to coordinate with their respective Legislative Officers to set up congressional visits for directors and other participants of the annual meeting. These visits should be scheduled on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 3rd and may roll over into the morning of Thursday, February 4th. As part of the Annual Meeting program, the Council will be providing training to assist participants in making productive visits with their congressional representatives. In addition, several other activities will take place over the course of the meeting to kick off our centennial year and provide opportunities for Annual Meeting participants to celebrate this important milestone.

Our Annual Meeting will be held at the JW Marriott Washington, located in the heart of the city's downtown district, just steps from the White House and near the National Mall. There is a room block starting on Saturday, January 30 - Thursday, February 4th at the group rate of $284.
